Battlegrounds Mobile India launch party gets record-breaking views, shows its potential to become the best ‘India Ka Game’

With the much-anticipated and successful Esports title launch of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) in the Indian market, the launch party of the exclusive Indian game surprised all with the total number of views going past the 25-million mark throughout the entirety of the launch party across all platforms. Country’s eighteen prominent gamers, content creators and known personalities in the world of Esports came up with their exclusive squad and became the part of this virtual launch party which was held on July 8-9, 2021.
While accumulating the numbers, 97,19,493 and 79,14,400 views came on the first and second day respectively across Hindi and English language on BGMI’s official YouTube channel, the engagement throughout the launch party proved the potential of the game as well as it lived up to the hype created in the whole Esports and gaming community.
Some of the country’s prominent content creators were featured in the BGMI launch party tournament, led by 18 squad captains—Dynamo, Kronten, Mortal, Ghatak, Shreeman Legend, Maxtern, Gaming Guru, Classified YT, Antaryami, Alpha Clasher, K18, Snax, Sangwan, Godnixon, Ronak, Jonathan, Bandookbaaz and Clash Universe. This ultimate stand-off showcased in-game skills of India’s finest gamers and Hindi casters Animesh ‘Thug’ Agarwal and Ocean Sharma with their host Varun Thakur and English casters Icybaby12, Experiment, FYXS with their host Super Jonny was very enthralled to see their favourite streamers back in the action after a gap of several months. The launch party tournament was live-streamed on the Battlegrounds Mobile India’s Facebook and YouTube channels in Hindi as well as English.
The tournament, which boasted a whopping prize pool of INR 6,00,000, saw Team Snax emerging as the winners and securing prize money of INR 3,30,000 while Team Kronten and Team Ronak took home INR 1,50,000 and INR 1,00,000 with their second and third-place finish respectively.
Abhishek Aggarwal, Co-Founder and CEO at Trinity Gaming, who manages most of these talents, said, “This launch was a huge step in the space of Esports as it gave the players a new arcade to explore and compete. Battlegrounds Mobile India has been receiving an overwhelming response, within a week after its release; the game has surpassed 34 million registered users. The game also recorded the highest of 16 million daily active users and 2.4 million peak concurrent users and this seems to be just the beginning of the rise of popularity of the much-awaited game.

Partnership to drive EWC’s expansion in China, leveraging Tencent E-sports’ networks and expertise to connect Chinese esports with EWC’s global ecosystem
The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) announced a partnership with Tencent, making Tencent E-sports the EWCF’s strategic partner in China to drive the expansion of the Esports World Cup’s presence in the region. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the EWCF’s purpose to unite global esports fans under one competitive umbrella and underscores its commitment to integrating the world’s most important and rapidly growing esports market into the Esports World Cup platform. The agreement was formalized at the Empower Esports Worldwide Series – The Esports Operation and Technology Session in Shenzhen, China.
The collaboration will establish a dedicated Development Team to enhance EWC’s visibility, engagement, and industry collaboration in China, while leveraging EWC’s and Tencent E-sports’ networks and expertise to connect Chinese esports with EWC’s global ecosystem. Tencent E-sports will provide marketing expertise, strategic consulting, and operational support to deliver diverse content and experiences.

ESIC Implemented its Anti-doping Testing Programme at IEM Katowice 2025

The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) implemented its comprehensive anti-doping testing program at IEM Katowice 2025, organised by ESL FACEIT Group (EFG). Conducted at EFG’s request, this initiative reinforced the commitment of both organisations to maintaining the highest standards of competitive integrity in esports.
ESIC’s anti-doping procedures, carried out in accordance with the ESIC Anti-Doping Code, ensured that all participating competitors at IEM Katowice adhered to globally recognised best practices. The programme featured advanced testing protocols, thorough monitoring and rigorous enforcement measures, all designed to uphold fair competition.
“At ESIC, our mission is to protect the integrity of the esports ecosystem. By deploying our anti-doping testing at IEM Katowice 2025, we reaffirmed our dedication to supporting event organizers like EFG in hosting competitions where athletes compete responsibly and ethically,” Stephen Hanna, Chief Executive Officer of ESIC, said.
Over the past few years, ESIC has administered more than 700 anti-doping tests at major esports events, including those hosted by EFG.
