NASCAR and BetMGM announce multi-year sports betting partnership
NASCAR and BetMGM, a market-leading sports betting and iGaming platform, announced a multi-year sports betting partnership. As an Authorized Gaming Operator of NASCAR, BetMGM will collaborate with NASCAR to create and promote engaging sports betting experiences, including introducing in-race betting options, for racing fans across the United States.
“Partnering with a best-in-class operator like BetMGM positions NASCAR to build on the positive energy and momentum we’re seeing around gaming and in particular the live in-race experience,” said Scott Warfield, NASCAR Managing Director, Gaming. “We’re excited to have such an iconic brand on board to expand our offerings and deepen our engagement with the most passionate fans in sports.”
As an Authorized Gaming Operator, BetMGM will have rights to NASCAR marks and will promote NASCAR offerings on BetMGM’s mobile app, BetMGM.com, BetMGM’s social media channels, and in BetMGM’s retail sports books. BetMGM is currently licensed for sports betting in seven states and has plans to be in 11 states by the end of 2020. BetMGM and NASCAR will introduce cross-promotional opportunities that may include promotion of BetMGM on NASCAR’s digital platforms, NASCAR.com, the NASCAR Mobile app, and social media channels.

BetMGM will expand the portfolio of bet types offered on its mobile app throughout the NASCAR season, including pre-race and in-play bets. Bet types currently being explored include top-finishing drivers, driver matchups, stage winners and bets tied to the number of the winning car (over/under), among others. Beginning in 2021, BetMGM will offer live, in-play betting through a partnership with Genius Sports and its sports betting division, Betgenius, as the sport continues to strengthen its position around in-play sports betting. NASCAR and BetMGM are also working together to develop a free-to-play NASCAR game.
In celebration of the partnership, BetMGM is offering a special promotion for NASCAR bets placed on the BetMGM app leading up to Sunday’s historic NASCAR Cup Series NASCAR has experienced across-the-board growth in its sports betting handle thanks in part to the popularity of the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series as well as the sport’s successful return to racing in May. BetMGM has seen NASCAR turnover grow by nearly 1,300% in just the first seven months of the year. Last year, NASCAR became the first sports league to join the National Center for Responsible Gaming.

Edmonton Oilers and Play Alberta Extend Partnership

The Edmonton Oilers and Play Alberta announced a new agreement that makes Play Alberta the exclusive sports betting and online gaming partner of the Edmonton Oilers.
The deal will see the Play Alberta logo featured prominently on the Oilers home jerseys and GameSense, AGLCâs responsible gambling program, displayed on the helmets of the Oilers for each home game.

The relationship between the Edmonton Oilers and PlayAlberta.ca will allow fans to experience the Play Alberta and GameSense brands through promotions in Rogers Place and ICE District, as well as giveaways throughout the season, including game tickets and memorabilia.
This past year, PlayAlberta.ca generated $235 million in net sales, an increase of more than $42 million from 2022-23. That number contributes to the $1.5 billion in total gaming revenue thatâs sent to Albertaâs General Revenue Fund and supports programs and services that Albertans rely on every day.

British Columbia Lottery Corporation and Future Anthem partner to establish Artificial Intelligence and Data Innovation Hub in Vancouver

Partnership will create dedicated specialist team to develop and deploy AI to improve player experiences across gaming products and channels.
BCLC has partnered with Future Anthem, a UK-based gambling data science specialist, on the creation of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Innovation Hub (the âHubâ), to be located at BCLCâs Vancouver office.
The Hub will focus on the development of AI, data capabilities and programs designed to improve the player experience across all BCLC gambling platforms, including lottery, gaming, and sports. It will employ a team of data and product professionals, with access to Future Anthemâs Data Science platform.
âBCLC is excited to be partnering with Future Anthem to create the first AI innovation hub in B.C. focused on the gambling industry,â says Mark Goldberg, BCLCâs Chief Information Officer. âWe know that the key components of the Hub will be its data driven research and software product development to support player engagement and experience, safer play and improved game design â core BCLC business areas.â
Managed in partnership through a joint Steering Committee that includes senior representatives from both BCLC and Future Anthem, the Hub will create and cultivate highly specialized, Vancouver-based AI technology jobs utilising Future Anthemâs strong experience in building teams focused on AI research and development, complemented by a small team of BCLC employees with skills and experience in this area.

Bettors in Ontario will be able to turn to evoke plc (888) for their sports wagering needs this season. The global betting and gaming company, formerly known as 888 Holdings plc, has re-signed with the Canadian Football League (CFL) as one of its Authorized Gaming Operators, offering fans premiere gaming and betting experiences to further their CFL fandom.
Since 1997, 888 has put fans, gamers, and bettors first through proprietary technology and engaging content across its various Casino, Sports, and Poker products. As part of the partnership, 888 presented Pre-Season Futures on CFL Game Zone in the leadup to the campaign.
