A5 Labs picks GeoComply to support WPT Global in 85 countries

Competitive games and platform provider A5 Labs has chosen leading fraud and risk solutions provider GeoComply to support its customer, online poker operator WPT Global, with its international expansion.
GeoComply will supply its suite of enhanced fraud detection and prevention solutions that help identify fraudulent players while protecting customer data in over 85 countries around the world.
A5 Labs Head of Security John Andress commented: “Fraudsters and cheats have targeted online poker from the very beginning. As our customer WPT Global embarks on a new journey, we were determined to invest in the tools needed to stay ahead of increasingly sophisticated criminals. Investing in GeoComply’s market-leading technology will keep us one step ahead of the cheats no matter where they are based.”
WPT Global launched its online poker site in May last year and is now available in over 50 countries, with over 15,000 average DAUs (daily active users). Its technology partner A5 Labs had a vision of how to stop cheating and create a site that poker players could trust. A5 Labs has invested heavily in machine learning and data science to stop the cheats, but it also needed help from GeoComply to stop fraudsters and bot groups.
Alongside its advanced fraud solutions, A5 Labs will also benefit from GeoComply’s compliance-grade geolocation tools that prevent users joining from blocked or sanctioned regions.
GeoComply’s VP of Sales and Customer Experience Mark Blunden added: “We are delighted to support and protect A5 Labs as it rolls out its operations around the world. Our technology has been road tested in North America’s highly regulated markets and will provide A5 Labs with the protection it needs across the globe.”
