Sportradar Awarded Sports Betting Provider Licenses in Maryland and Wisconsin
Leading sports data provider awarded Maryland Sports Wagering License and a temporary Gaming-Related Certificate in Wisconsin
Sportradar, the leading global sports technology company creating immersive experiences for sports fans and bettors, via its US betting subsidiary, Sportradar Solutions LLC, announced that it has received two new state gaming licenses: a Sports Wagering Contractor License in Maryland and a temporary Gaming-Related Contractor Certificate in Wisconsin.
Maryland and Wisconsin each recently passed legislation allowing consumers to place wagers at select physical sportsbooks in those states. Maryland first started accepting legal wagers on December 9, while Wisconsin introduced legalized sports betting on November 30 through the Oneida Nation. Both states also have plans to expand to online and mobile betting. With new licenses in Maryland and Wisconsin, Sportradar is able to support all legal sportsbook operators in those states. In total, Sportradar now holds 26 licenses at the state and tribal levels in the US.
Arne Rees, Sportradar US CEO said: “Sportradar is constantly looking for opportunities to expand offerings for its partners and customers and, from a betting standpoint, that starts with securing state licenses in key states like Maryland and Wisconsin, which have multiple professional sports teams, as well as very passionate fanbases. These licenses further Sportradar’s leadership position in the US and allow us to grow these new markets with our best-in-class data, products, and services, all backed by the highest levels of integrity.”
