Fantasy Akhada witnessed a surge of 150% in the number of users during IPL 2020
The burgeoning online fantasy gaming platform, Fantasy Akhada, announced that it has witnessed over 150% surge in user concurrency recently at the end of a successful IPL 2020.
As the IPL frenzy took over the entire country, fans and sports enthusiasts stayed glued to their television sets. However, it wasn’t just the tournament which had everybody hooked; majority of the viewers were even fixated on their smartphones as they took part and played on several fantasy gaming platforms like Fantasy Akhada.
In the first year of its establishment, online fantasy gaming platform – Fantasy Akhada carved a niche for itself during the pandemic-induced lockdown and emerged as a preferred choice for many fantasy sports players as people were locked up inside their homes and craved entertainment. The fantasy gaming platform provided amazing virtual gaming experience to all, where people could not only use their knowledge and skills of selection to win big, but also enjoyed 24*7 customer care and personalised experience on the platform’s helpdesk. The growing popularity has had a favourable impact on the brand’s reputation and even resulted in an exponential rise in registrations and traction on its website and APK downloads.
Mr. Amit Purohit, Founder, Fantasy Akhada shares his views on the spike in userbase and said, “The commencement of IPL 2020 successfully revived the fantasy gaming segment in India completely. Our platform has been gaining traction of gamers and sports enthusiasts ever since the launch. We have seen a massive surge in all our key metrics during IPL 2020 and have grown our user base by 150%. Our active user base who play cash contests on our platform has also gone up by 3x. Additionally, the number of deposit transactions in a day grew by 103% on our platform over the last 2 months, which saw a huge jump in our top line. I am sure other platforms in the industry must be witnessing great growth numbers during this IPL season”.
“The only difference that I realised this year was that people played from the comfort of their homes and couldn’t cheer for their favourite players in the cricket stadiums. Everything else, right from remaining fixed to television sets to punching into mobile phones to participate in fantasy gaming platforms, remained the same.”– He added.
To make the IPL experience bigger and better for Fantasy Sports Players and Youtubers / Telegram Channel Owners, Fantasy Akhada had also announced cash prizes in Lakhs and a priceless meet and greet opportunity with Harsha Bhogle for the best performing players/tips channel owners. Mr. Narendra Chouhan, Mr. Prasad Vaity and Mr. Ankit Choudhary emerged as the winners for the Tournament Leaderboard while Mr. Rakshit Chopra, owner of Fantasy Scout 11, emerged as the winner of the Best Pehelwaan Award during IPL 2020.
Voice of Indian Cricket, the legendary Harsha Bhogle, was also onboarded by Fantasy Akhada in September, a development that the brand leveraged for creating buzz prior to the beginning of IPL season. This further helped them in securing good traction in the run-up to the IPL with a 10% daily increase in the userbase. Along with being an investor in the brand, Harsha Bhogle will also continue to be its ambassador for the next 2 years. With this move, he cements his confidence and commitment towards the brand.

Regulated iGaming markets push operators toward audit-ready affiliate tracking
As regulators scrutinise AML, RG and advertising, operators face rising pressure to validate attribution and partner payouts end to end.
Growing regulation in iGaming is changing how operators manage affiliates, track player acquisition, and control partner payouts, according to a new statement from affiliate platform provider Affnook.
The company argues that in regulated markets affiliates are increasingly treated as an extension of an operator’s marketing activity, raising the stakes for oversight in areas such as affiliate advertising practices, responsible gambling controls, anti-money laundering (AML) and data privacy. The release points to the Danish Gambling Authority as one example of a regulator highlighting potential AML risks linked to affiliate partnerships and urging operators to strengthen risk assessments across third-party acquisition channels.
Affnook says the industry is moving away from “Trust Me” affiliate reporting as stakeholders demand performance data and revenue attribution that can be independently verified. It lists audit-ready reporting, verifiable revenue attribution, transparency into tracking and commission calculations, and consistent reporting standards as key expectations in more heavily regulated environments.
The company also frames financial governance as a parallel priority to tracking, citing the need for net gaming revenue (NGR) verification, commission accuracy, invoice reconciliation and payment oversight. It adds that multi-touch player journeys and reduced effectiveness of cookie-based attribution are widening “attribution blind spots,” which can fuel partner disputes, weaken decision-making and complicate compliance reviews.
In the release, Affnook positions platform features such as audit logs, partner activity monitoring, consent-aware tracking, real-time commission calculations and server-to-server tracking as the types of capabilities operators should evaluate as regulatory expectations increase.
