Playtech, has announced a two-year extension to its exclusive agreement with Sony Pictures Television to produce Live experiences based on the iconic TV quiz show, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? expanding across North America.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? stands as a globally renowned television game show that has captivated audiences since its inception. The Playtech Live games include many of the classic Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? TV show features such as: 50/50, Ask the Audience and Ask the Host, which gives the player the chance to have incorrect answers removed based on the level of question they have reached.

Playtech previously announced a strategic five-year partnership with Sony Pictures Television to work together to bring three games of the much-loved Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? brand into the Playtech Live digital entertainment portfolio. Following the success of Live Roulette and Live Trivia, Playtech has recently introduced an exciting addition to their line-up: Video Poker Live, inspired by the popular TV show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Playtech will be developing more dedicated Millionaire branded games, network wide.

This collaboration will extend to more territories, including the U.S, Mexico, and Canada, as Playtech continues to demonstrate their commitment to capitalising on the growing potential of the North American gaming market whilst recognising the significant player base in these regions. Playtech has released the third edition of its e-book focusing on the Latin American gambling industry. This edition, explores player trends, concerns, and key interests, offering expert insights on responsible gaming to industry peers in one of the fastest-growing regions worldwide.

The latest version of the study includes significant updates and findings from a survey conducted with 2500 people across Latin America. Participants from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, and Colombia shared their experiences as online players, providing a comprehensive overview of public perceptions of the Latin American market, including previously unpublished insights.

Brazil and Peru launched online gambling regulations this year, and player perceptions are shifting. The new regulations have increased confidence in the sector, with only 25% of respondents avoiding betting due to concerns about fraud and gambling-related harm. Peru has seen the highest rate of frequent players, with 92% betting monthly, and 80% of respondents supporting stronger regulations on betting advertisements.

In Argentina, 77% of respondents advocate for stricter regulations on betting advertisements, similar to other countries, while 88% support stronger age verification policies on betting websites due to challenges with minors playing online. In Chile, 63% of participants feel safer using a legal and registered platform, though only 15% consider themselves fully up-to-date with current legislation.

Colombia, which has updated its regulations in recent years, emerged as the most mature market surveyed. The importance of fast and reliable payment providers was highlighted, with 58% of Colombians citing this as the most crucial factor when choosing a gambling platform.

Delaware North selects Playtech as new platform provider for Betly mobile sportsbook and casino

Delaware North, a global hospitality and entertainment company with a portfolio of regional casinos and an interactive gaming division, has selected leading online gaming platform, content and services provider Playtech to power its Betly mobile sportsbook and casino.

Playtech is the new platform provider for the Betly sportsbooks, starting with Betly Ohio, which launched this month and replaces MVGBet in an affiliate license partnership with Miami Valley Gaming, a Delaware North joint-venture property located between Cincinnati and Dayton. The Betly sportsbooks in Arkansas, Tennessee and West Virginia, a state where Betly also offers an online casino in addition to sports betting, will be migrated to the Playtech platform in the coming months.

“We are very pleased to partner with Playtech to provide Betly customers with an enhanced mobile sports betting and online casino experience powered by an industry leader,” said Lee Terfloth, chief interactive gaming officer for Delaware North.
