Pollard Banknote Launches iLottery Solution in Kansas

Pollard Banknote Limited has congratulated the Kansas Lottery (the Lottery) on the successful launch of its iLottery program, powered by the Pollard Catalyst Gaming Platform (the Platform), Pollard Banknote’s cloudnative, modular, and API-first iLottery solution. The leadership and strong partnership of the Kansas Lottery, combined with Pollard Banknote’s deep iLottery expertise, enabled the launch to come only ten months after initial scoping, making this the fastest implementation of a full iLottery program in U.S. history.
Players in Kansas will now be able to play popular draw-based games including Powerball and Mega Millions, and an initial offering of nine eInstant games from the Pollard Digital Games Studio on the Lottery’s website. eInstants available at launch include Jayhawk Riches and Wildcat Riches, a pair of games customized for the market that celebrate the rivalry between the Kansas State University and University of Kansas athletic programs, and tie into the Rivalry Riches instant ticket currently in-market in Kansas. Additional draw-based games will be added soon, and new eInstant games will launch every two weeks to ensure the offerings remain fresh and exciting for Kansas players.
The iLottery solution builds on the Lottery’s existing PlayOn Loyalty Program, Pollard Banknote’s proprietary loyalty solution. Existing PlayOn members can easily join in the fun by upgrading their existing loyalty accounts. The Lottery launched PlayOn in 2017, enabling players to earn points by submitting their retail tickets and completing other activities. Points can be redeemed for chances to win cash, experiential prizes, or free plays.
Pollard Banknote is providing comprehensive marketing support for Kansas’ iLottery program, leveraging the Platform’s Marketing Engagement Platform, powered by Bloomreach. Pollard Banknote’s experienced iLottery marketing team will create and execute campaigns to support player acquisition and retention, and provide the Lottery with insightful, data-driven recommendations to responsibly maximize revenue for the State of Kansas while ensuring the integrity of all games. The Platform’s deep integration with Bloomreach supports real-time action to engage players in a way that is personalized and relevant to them, ensuring higher levels of satisfaction with their playing experience.
“We’re thrilled with how our team at the Kansas Lottery and Pollard Banknote have worked together to achieve this historic milestone. Pollard Banknote walked with us every step of the way, providing effective guidance at every decision point. Despite the inherent complexity of launching an iLottery program, the planning and implementation process went very smoothly, owing to the strength and flexibility of Catalyst and the comprehensive support from the team at Pollard Banknote. We really appreciate their leadership and their partnership,” Stephen Durrell, Executive Director of Kansas Lottery, said.
“We greatly appreciate the confidence the Kansas Lottery has shown in us by being the first client to launch Catalyst. They have been excellent partners on the journey to today’s launch, which represents the culmination of our decades of experience developing and operating iLottery systems in Europe and Canada. It also speaks to the success of the Pollard Digital Games Studio, whose eInstants are now available in many jurisdictions around the world. This launch solidifies our position as the lottery partner of choice across all channels,” Doug Pollard, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Pollard Banknote, said.

NeoPollard Interactive Congratulates Virginia Lottery for Launching Cloud-based iLottery Program
NeoPollard Interactive LLC, jointly owned by Pollard Banknote Limited and NeoGames S.A., has congratulated the Virginia Lottery for launching the first cloud-based iLottery program in the US.
The iLottery system uses a number of Neo-based technologies, including NeoDraw, NeoSphere, and NeoPlay.
Doug Pollard, Co-CEO of NeoPollard Interactive, said: “We recognise the need to continually refine our offerings based on emerging and evolving technology. Delivering our iLottery solution through the cloud will enable us to better serve the Virginia Lottery and other iLottery programs that are powered by NPi. NeoPollard has supported Virginia Lottery’s iLottery program since its initial launch of eSubscriptions in 2016.

NeoPollard Interactive Announces Addition of Pick 3 and Pick 4 to North Carolina Education Lottery’s Online Play
NeoPollard Interactive LLC, jointly owned by Pollard Banknote Limited and NeoGames S.A., announced that the North Carolina Education Lottery (Lottery) has expanded its Online Play offerings with the introduction of Pick 3 and Pick 4. Launched on February 6, 2023, these games complement the Lottery’s existing online draw game offerings of Powerball, Mega Millions, Lucky for Life, and Carolina Cash 5.
Powered by NPi’s NeoDraw Interactive Central Gaming System, players can now purchase Pick 3 and Pick 4 tickets for up to 14 upcoming draws. Number selection can be done in several ways: by generating a random set of numbers with the “Quick Pick” feature, by using saved favorite numbers, or by building a new set of numbers. Players can also select the Fireball add-on feature for more combinations to match and win.
The Lottery’s Online Play program has performed exceptionally well—experiencing incredible sales growth of 224% since launching with NPi in fiscal year (FY) 2020. In FY 2022, 22% of draw games sold at retail and online in North Carolina were sold through the Lottery’s Online Play program. North Carolinians benefit from this growth, with programs aimed at building and repairing schools, making college more affordable through scholarships and grants, supporting school systems with the costs of school staff and transportation, and providing a free academic preschool to at-risk children in the Pre-K program. The launch of Pick 3 and Pick 4—responsible for over 60% of the Lottery’s retail draw game sales in FY 2022—through Online Play will help increase revenues to these good causes.
“Our focus in operating the Lottery with the highest degree of integrity and security underpins our approach to delivering exceptional games to lottery players in North Carolina. The innovation we deliver through Online Play aligns with our vision to offer an entertainment experience that enriches the lives of our players and supports our commitment to increase the Lottery’s funding for education initiatives in North Carolina. We are excited to now give players the opportunity to purchase Pick 3 and Pick 4 games on web and mobile channels,” Mark Michalko, Executive Director of North Carolina Education Lottery, said.
“NPi is proud to partner with the North Carolina Education Lottery to generate essential funding for education programs throughout the state. This expanded product offering will contribute to continued revenue growth and, in turn, will elevate the Lottery’s returns to critical education programs,” Doug Pollard, Co-CEO of NeoPollard Interactive, said.
“The year-over-year growth experienced by the Lottery’s Online Play program is a testament to players’ demand for access to lottery games through their preferred channels. In North Carolina, we see over 75% of online sales occurring through mobile channels. We look forward to continued innovation and growth in the Online Play program through our partnership with the Lottery,” Moti Malul, Co-CEO of NeoPollard Interactive, said.
