Seminole Hard Rock Promotes Elena Alvarez to Senior Vice President of Marketing and Brand Partnerships

Seminole Hard Rock has appointed Elena Alvarez as the new Senior Vice President of Marketing and Brand Partnerships for Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock International.
In this new role, the company veteran will be responsible for the development of brand activations and integrating assets across Hotels, Cafes, Retail, and Casinos including overseeing the development of new revenue-generating platforms. Alvarez will also continue to oversee the global marketing of the Cafe division of Hard Rock International. She reports to Jeff Hook, Executive Vice President of Marketing/CMO of Seminole Hard Rock Support Services and, with respect to brand partnerships, to Keith Sheldon, President of Entertainment.
“Elena is an essential senior marketer with a proven track record elevating the Hard Rock brand for our Cafe division that includes spearheading F&B innovation and initiating and evolving the company’s successful multi-faceted partnership with Lionel Messi. With nearly 20 years of experience at Hard Rock alone, we have the utmost confidence that Elena will continue to elevate the Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming brands in new and exciting ways,” said Hook.
Alvarez began her career with Hard Rock International as a Sales & Marketing Manager for Hard Rock Cafe Barcelona in 2005. Since then, Alvarez held key sales and marketing roles in the Europe, U.K. and U.S. Cafe divisions where she developed regional and global marketing strategies, brand programs, and corporate sponsorships across the company and franchise Cafe portfolio to drive top-line sales while heightening consumer awareness. In 2019 after her move to the US, Alvarez was promoted to Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for the Cafe division where oversaw marketing in more than 150 Hard Rock locations (which will continue in her new role) and has proven to be an invaluable asset to the Hard Rock brand.

Hard Rock International and Shakira Announce Year-Long Women Empowerment Initiative This International Women’s Day

In celebration of Hard Rock International’s annual “International Women’s Month” in March and International Women’s Day on Saturday, March 8, Hard Rock and global superstar & humanitarian, Shakira, announce a year-long partnership that aims to empower women around the world to tell their stories, be their authentic selves and unite through the power of music. The company is raising funds through its charitable arm, Hard Rock Heals Foundation, throughout International Women’s Month. A portion of proceeds will benefit Pies Descalzos Foundation—Shakira’s non-profit organization enhancing the education and social development of girls in Colombia’s most vulnerable communities—as well as local women’s organizations within the communities of Hard Rock locations.
“I’m excited to partner with Hard Rock, an organization with an incredible history of uplifting women through the power of music, to empower my sisters this International Women’s Day and beyond. Together we can use our voices to break barriers and make the world a more inclusive space where every woman feels confident being themselves,” Shakira said.
Hard Rock and Shakira collaborated on menu items including food, a delicious “Hips Don’t Lie” cocktail and unique clothing designed to celebrate women. Hard Rock will also host 1000 women-led performances in March—including the incomparable global star Diana Ross and standup comedian Iliza Shlesinger among many others—at its cafes, hotels, casinos, and live music venues across the globe.

The Hard Rock Heals Foundation will donate $250,000 to Pies Descalzos Foundation in addition to guest contributions to the program.

Hard Rock International Unveils “WE ARE” Initiative with Director, Actress and Activist Eva Longoria and Charity Partners for International Women’s Month

To celebrate International Women’s Month, Hard Rock International announced a new “WE ARE” initiative honoring its ongoing commitment to championing women’s health and empowerment. Through its “WE ARE” campaign this March, Hard Rock will join forces with Eva Longoria to encourage women around the world to share their personal stories, help uplift women’s narratives on critical issues and spotlight nearly 1000 performances by talented female musicians in special events at its Cafe, Hotel and Casino locations throughout the month. Hard Rock is also releasing a limited-edition t-shirt and exciting food and beverage menu items. Through its charitable arm, Hard Rock Heals Foundation, the company is raising funds throughout the month to benefit two organizations working to support women and women’s health: Global Gift Foundation and Magee-Womens Research Institute.
“While International Women’s Day is March 8 and Women’s History Month is March, we’ve dubbed Hard Rock’s celebration ‘International Women’s Month’, aiming to empower women and raise awareness for women’s health globally throughout March,” said Elena Alvarez, SVP of Marketing and Partnerships at Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock International, said.

With her help, we’ll bring our ‘WE ARE’ initiative to life in innovative ways at Hard Rock properties around the world, providing guests with ways to celebrate women and raise funds for important women’s organizations,” Elena Alvarez added.

To honor the new partnership with Longoria, Hard Rock Cafe mixologists have created the Pink Lace Margarita, a limited-time, exclusive cocktail featuring Casa Del Sol, the luxury tequila brand she co-founded. Guests at any Hard Rock Cafe in the United States and select Mexico locations can enjoy this colorful twist on a classic throughout March and April. A portion of proceeds from the cocktail will be provided to Magee-Womens Research Institute and the Global Gift Foundation, which aims to create a positive impact for women, children, and families in need. Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood guests can also sip Casa Del Sol at upcoming pool party events scheduled for later this year.
