Koin Appoints Scott Carcillo as Chief Commercial Officer
Digital payments innovator Koin has appointed Scott Carcillo as its chief commercial officer.
The newest addition to the rapidly growing Koin team, Carcillo will lead the company’s expansion into the gaming industry and overall market reach, focusing on macro-level business development strategies and fostering strategic partnerships.
Carcillo is a veteran of the gaming and payments industries. While CIO for Wynn Resorts, his teams led the revenue management charge, opened the company’s Macau property and its expansion, and architected the technology and related experiences for Las Vegas’ Encore property. He established a reputation as an innovative leader and business strategist who understood operations and how to lever technology.
He also served as CIO for Merchant Link (later purchased by Shift4), senior vice president of customer solutions for FreedomPay LLC, and chief payments officer for Shift4. Carcillo and his teams demonstrated an aptitude for introducing new and transformative technologies to the markets they served while helping to expand the client portfolio and deliver exceptional experiences to consumers.

Mark D. Hemmerle Joins Koin, Marker Trax as Chief Legal Officer
Cashless payments innovators Koin and Marker Trax, both helmed by CEO Gary Ellis, have hired Mark D. Hemmerle as their chief legal officer.
As the two sister companies continue to introduce their groundbreaking cashless technology to more markets and operators around the country, Hemmerle fills a vital need in helping company leaders navigate and advise on important legal and compliance matters.
Through two decades of executive leadership and compliance counsel roles with Shift4Payments, Vantiv/Worldpay, Hyatt Grand Victoria Casino, and others, he has built a reputation for helping companies align on-the-ground tactics with long-term strategies and implementing effective compliance protocols.
“Mark’s expertise lies uniquely at the intersection of emerging technologies and navigating complex compliance issues – aptitudes that align perfectly with the innovations we’re implementing in the industry. Hemmerle attended the University of Cincinnati, earning a degree in economics. He earned a law degree from the University of Denver College of Law, and subsequently pursued graduate work at the university’s School of International Studies. Additionally, he completed the University of Nevada, Reno’s Executive Development Program in gaming, and has presented at numerous industry events, including the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States, the Global Gaming Expo, and others. Hemmerle is also a Trustee on the Board of the International Association of Gaming Advisors.

Cashless payments innovator Koin Payments has announced a partnership with Northern Nevada’s Baldini’s Casino – making it the first property in Northern Nevada to introduce a flexible cashless wagering experience.
Baldini’s, a casino in Sparks, has long been a favorite of locals and visitors alike. The company was an early proponent of digital solutions and now, through its partnership with Koin, will be able to offer patrons cashless options unique to the region – an important milestone in the evolution of the cashless sector.
