easyGroup Launches easyBet with Matchbook Partnership Amid UK Expansion
easyGroup has announced the launch of easyBet.net, a new brand in the sports betting industry that seeks to offer customers the best price for backing their team.
easyBet.net has chosen to enter this market in partnership with Matchbook, a peer-to-peer betting exchange designed for smart bettors who want more value. Matchbook has invested in a new industry leading management team and has implemented “best in class” compliance and regulation systems.
Easybet.net is the latest addition to the easy family of brands created and owned by entrepreneur and philanthropist Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou.
This new venture marks the first time an “easy” brand has entered the sports betting industry. easyBet is a strategic brand extension with its name being just one letter apart from easyJet. easyGroup has historically had to pursue several infringement cases that have seen brand thieves use the “easy” name in the sports betting industry. The launch of easyBet.net will provide customers with the assurance of a legitimate member of the easy family and a trusted “easy” brand and prevent any further brand infringement in this sector. easyGroup is following most of the other big Uk consumer facing brands that have expanded in this sector such as Virgin, Sky, The Sun newspaper and of course Ryanair selling scratch cards.
Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou said: “We are delighted to welcome easyBet.net to the ‘easy’ family of brands which is a natural new market to complement our other large consumer brands in the UK and Ireland.
“Launched at the beginning of October 2024 , easyBet offers Peer to Peer betting with the aim of giving customers fairer odds than traditional bookmakers. It allows you to bet on sports events – you can back what you think will win or lay what you think will lose. We believe this model offers fairer odds to the consumer.”
Malcolm Graham, CEO of Matchbook, said: “Matchbook is delighted to be partnering with the easyGroup to offer its betting exchange product. The ‘easy’ brand is renowned for consistently supplying quality and value to its customers. easyBet.net offers its customers industry leading odds across a wide range of sports, and geographic markets, offering a top-tier user experience. We are also thrilled that we will be supporting Stelios’ philanthropic activities via the license fees being paid to easyGroup.”

Videoslots Launches DBET in Sweden with International Tipset Pools
Videoslots is excited to unveil a new brand, DBET .com, now available in Sweden, with plans to expand into other European markets soon. DBET is Videoslots’ first sports-focused brand and aims to disrupt the Swedish tipset market by offering players access to international pools and jackpots for the very first time.
Starting today, Swedish players can win an estimated jackpot of 12 million kroner (over €1M) by being the sole participant in the pool to correctly predict the outcome (win/lose/draw) of 13 featured matches. These pools are expected to grow rapidly, offering a compelling alternative to traditional games that only collect bets within Sweden.
For its launch, DBET has secured a comprehensive sponsorship package with Bandy, Sweden’s quintessential sport. DBET is now the principal partner of the Swedish Bandy Association, the National Team, and the Swedish Bandy League (Elitserien), which provides visibility in stadiums and on the jerseys of all league teams. Additionally, DBET will sponsor the Bandy World Championship, set to take place in Lidköping in 2025.
Through this partnership, DBET signals its intention to establish itself as a true Swedish brand, closely aligned with elite competitions while promoting grassroots sports across the country. Following the initial launch with tipset and casino offerings, DBET will expand its product portfolio to include a state-of-the-art sportsbook. This will be the first brand to feature the new sportsbook platform adopted by Videoslots’ portfolio of brands. The platform will eventually be rolled out across all markets, further raising Videoslots’ ambitions in the sports betting sector.

NOVOMATIC builds the Group’s largest photovoltaic system in Lower Austria
NOVOMATIC has underscored its clear commitment to sustainability by installing the Group’s largest photovoltaic system. More than 4,600 solar panels have been installed on the roof of the headquarters in Lower Austria, covering a total area of 20,000 m2 and ceremoniously commissioned in the presence of Lower Austrian Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner, NOVOMATIC’s Executive Board and the mayor of Gumpoldskirchen, Ferdinand Köck.
The PV system, with a size equivalent to three football pitches, will produce around two million kilowatt-hours of electricity every year, thereby enabling the company to meet a substantial portion of this location’s annual energy needs. In addition to being used in the offices and production facilities, this green electricity will also find its way into the company’s dedicated charging stations for its fleet of e-vehicles. It is a similar situation with international subsidiaries in countries such as Germany, Italy, Spain, Romania, North Macedonia, Bosnia, Poland, South Africa and Australia, which are already meeting substantial portions of their electricity needs from dedicated PV systems.
State Governor of Lower Austria, Johanna Mikl-Leitner, emphasizes “Lower Austria is a pioneer in efforts to develop the use of wind energy and photovoltaics. Half of all the wind power produced in Austria and a quarter of all the country’s photovoltaic electricity already comes from Lower Austria today. We can do this because many companies do their bit to ensure the green and sustainable future of the state’s economic engine, investing in the development of renewable energy sources. Thank you for this investment and the trust placed in the economic hub that is Lower Austria.”
“The completion of the Group’s largest photovoltaic plant is not just a key milestone in the sustainability strategy of NOVOMATIC AG, but it also means we have sent a clear signal of our intentions to foster a strong and efficient energy future. After all, it is only by taking responsibility that business success can be guaranteed in the long term,” says the Executive Board of the NOVOMATIC AG Group.
Installing the new PV system on already built-up areas helps NOVOMATIC to consistently reduce its carbon footprint, and enabling it now to save more than 1,100 tons of CO2 emissions every year, the equivalent of 90,500 trees compensating for CO2. The concept of “Going Green” is firmly anchored in the company’s comprehensive ESG program as Europe’s leading gaming technology group. In addition to its work to expand the use of photovoltaics across the Group, the company is also focusing its attention on monitoring resources and expanding e-mobility, all with a view to permanently cutting international CO2 emissions.
