Mohegan, a globally recognised leader in entertainment and gaming, has announced the appointment of Kurt Shotzberger as the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis. In this role, Shotzberger will spearhead budgeting, financial modeling, forecasting and financial and operational analysis, as well as strategic planning.

Sportradar announced the appointment of Felippe Marchetti as Integrity Partnerships Manager in Brazil, as the global sports technology company continues to scale its integrity services team in Latin America. In this role, Marchetti will lead the strategic development of Sportradar’s Integrity Services in Brazil, identifying business opportunities to increase the company’s integrity partnerships in the market and work closely with Sportradar’s Brazil-based integrity analysts.

Lottery.com Inc., a leading online lottery services provider, announced the strategic acquisition of S&MI Ltd. (SportLocker). As part of the acquisition, SportLocker, rebranded as Sports.com, will immediately launch as a premier platform for sports fans worldwide, marking a pivotal leap in Sports.com’s evolution as the next-gen digital sports entertainment space.

GAN Limited, a leading North American B2B technology provider of real money internet gaming solutions and a leading International B2C operator of Internet sports betting, announced that Seamus McGill has recently been named the Company’s Chief Executive Officer. Mr. McGill had previously been serving in an interim capacity. Mr. McGill’s will remain on the Company’s board of directors and will be focused on guiding the Company towards a timely closing with Sega Sammy Creation Inc.

Aruze Gaming Global (AG2) has announced that it has secured approvals from 14 tribal entities in the US and has obtained licenses from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, South Dakota, the West Virginia Lottery and the Wisconsin Division of Gaming.

Partnerships

Scientific Games has added two more partners to the new SG Content Hub and Partner Programme. In addition to games from its own SG Studios, the company will now offer curated iLottery games from Bwloto and Random State to its 30+ iLottery customers globally. Currently, a total of seven lottery-focused game studios have signed on as partners.

SCCG Management has announced the extension of its strategic partnership with AWARE, a world leader in biometric verification software solutions. This renewed commitment builds upon the successful collaboration initiated between the two companies, aiming to further establish AWARE’s advanced biometric software solutions across the gambling sector worldwide.

Hard Rock International has partnered with Major Food Group (MFG) to develop and curate dining experiences at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino properties around the globe. MFG’s support of Hard Rock will extend to proposed projects as well.

GAN Limited has announced that it has received approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission (NGC) for the merger of GAN and a subsidiary of SEGA SAMMY CREATION INC. (SSC), an affiliate of SEGA SAMMY HOLDINGS INC. The closing of the merger remains subject to other customary closing conditions including additional gaming regulatory approvals, and is expected to occur in late 2024 or early 2025.

Partnerships

Crane Payment Innovations (CPI) announced its agreement with Everi Holdings, a premier provider of land-based and digital casino gaming content and products, financial technology, player loyalty solutions and bingo. This collaboration will integrate Everi’s CashClub Wallet with CPI’s Betbridge cashless solution, enabling at-machine mobile payments in casinos. By building this solution on the trusted bill validator and TITO technology, CPI and Everi are making cashless payments seamless in casinos.

BetMGM announced that it is teaming up with GTG Network to deliver customised content and useful betting insights for sports fans. The multi-year agreement will roll out in phases, beginning with direct-to-consumer content followed by in-app product integrations. BetMGM will use GTG’s proprietary content engine to launch the partnership, harnessing trillions of data points to share valuable market insights, player statistics and win probabilities for MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, college basketball and college football.

TaDa Gaming has further strengthened its position in the rapidly growing Latin American market through latest partnership with Cactus Gaming. The American Gaming Association (AGA), European Casino Association (ECA) and the Betting & Gaming Council (BGC) announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding that marks the beginning of a collaboration grounded in shared industry values and priorities. The MOU formalises a commitment among the three associations to address key issues facing the global gaming industry including illegal gambling, responsible gaming, innovation and security.

Detroit Casinos Report $101.98M in September Revenue

The three Detroit casinos reported $101.98 million in monthly aggregate revenue (AGR) for the month of September 2024, of which $101.23 million was generated from table games and slots, and $755,519 from retail sports betting.

The September market shares were:

• MGM, 47%

• MotorCity, 31%

Monthly Table Games, Slot Revenue, and Taxes

The casinos’ revenue for table games and slots for the month of September 2024 increased 1.2% when compared to the same month last year. September’s monthly revenue was 8.6% lower when compared to the previous month, August 2024. From Jan. 1 through Sept. 30, the Detroit casinos’ table games and slots revenue increased by 1.0% compared to the same period last year.

The casinos’ monthly gaming revenue results were mixed compared to September 2023:

• MGM, up 6.6% to $47.68 million

• MotorCity, up 0.5% to $31.17 million

• Hollywood Casino at Greektown, down 7.8% to $22.38 million

In September 2024, the three Detroit casinos paid $8.2 million in gaming taxes to the State of Michigan. They paid $8.1 million for the same month last year. The casinos also reported submitting $12.5 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit in September.

Monthly Retail Sports Betting Revenue and Taxes

The three Detroit casinos reported $22.02 million in total retail sports betting handle, and total gross receipts were $771,751 for the month of September. Retail sports betting qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR) were down by 52.0% in September when compared to September 2023, and down by 55.4% when compared to August 2024.

September QAGR by casino was:

• MGM: $601,794

• MotorCity: $11,817

• Hollywood Casino at Greektown: $141,908

During September, the casinos paid $28,559 in gaming taxes to the state and reported submitting $34,905 in wagering taxes to the City of Detroit based on their retail sports betting revenue.
