Entain and the Pitching In Trident Leagues Announce Community Foundation Grants to 19 Football Clubs
The Entain Foundation and the three Pitching In Trident Leagues (The Isthmian, Northern Premier and Southern Leagues) announced their latest round of grants from the Trident Community Foundation, to clubs across England and Wales.
Entain became a founding partner when it helped to establish The Trident Community Foundation (TCF) in December 2020, as part of the Foundation’s Pitching In grassroots sport investment programme. The TCF enables clubs to engage in a wide range of vital community-based projects and invest in their local areas.
A total of 19 clubs have been offered grants of up to £5000 each from the latest round of allocations, with a focus on strengthening community relations. Successful projects include; programmes to enable disadvantaged children to participate in football; community fitness clubs; walking football for older generations; first aid and steward training; youth development schemes and; mental health support.
The latest wave of grants builds on the 27 projects that were funded in 2021-22, the first season the TCF was in operation. The Entain Foundation provides £150,000 each year to support the TCF each year which is in addition to its overall sponsorship of the Pitching In Trident Leagues, which goes towards the Leagues’ operational costs.
Pitching In ambassador Stuart Pearce knows all about the value of the non-league community from his early days at Wealdstone and hopes this will be the springboard for a vast array of projects to take off. The former England skipper said:
“These clubs play a vital role in the community, promoting health and wellbeing. The initiatives being supported by the Trident Community Fund show the true meaning of Pitching In and will further strengthen the bonds between the clubs and their communities. I would like to congratulate those who have been successful – and this is just the start. I look forward to seeing these initiatives come to life and more ideas come in.”
In a joint statement, Pitching In Southern League vice-chairman Anthony Hughes, Pitching In Isthmian League chairman Nick Robinson and Pitching In Northern Premier League chairman Mark Harris said:
“We are delighted to receive the continued support of Entain and its Foundation which enables our clubs to play an active role in their communities, making a full contribution to the wellbeing of their local areas. This is a truly groundbreaking partnership and we have an exciting range of projects that we are supporting.”
Pitching In spokesperson and Entain’s Head of ESG, Jay Dossetter added:
“Our ambition for the Pitching In sponsorship of the Trident Leagues is to make a real difference to community-based and grassroots sport, and the Trident Community Fund is the perfect vehicle to deliver that. The variety and quality of the projects the TCF are funding is inspiring to see.”

Quantum continues expansion streak with two director-level new hires
Reading Time: 2 minutes
One of betting and gaming’s best-known customer acquisition and comparison businesses, Quantum, has announced the next steps in its ambitious growth plan by welcoming two new director-level appointees.
Joining the business are Dimitris Papamichael as commercial director and Luke Watkin as marketing director – both in newly created roles. They come in alongside a full C-suite and a full team of new tech hires that continues a recruitment drive which began in 2023 – and reflects Quantum’s rapid and consistent growth throughout the last five years.
Papamichael will be responsible for all revenue-generating activities across the business in a pivotal leadership role. He’ll shape Quantum’s commercial strategy as the company diversifies into new verticals while maintaining its strong position in the iGaming sector. He’ll also lead an expanding team of commercial and sales managers.
Watkin will lead the development and execution of the marketing strategy across all business verticals. As marketing director, he’ll be instrumental in shaping Quantum’s marketing vision, building scalable systems, and delivering commercial impact as it expands into new markets. Watkin will build and mentor a high-performing marketing team and is also tasked with driving further recruitment.
Speaking of the appointments and new strategic direction, CMO James McCarthy said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Dimitris and Luke to Quantum during what is undoubtedly a really fascinating time in our growth. From cementing our relationship with some of iGaming’s biggest names to helping us expand into exciting new sectors, both of our new Directors will be integral to the continued success of the business.”
Papamichael said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Quantum at such an exciting stage of its incredible growth journey. The company has already achieved so much, and there’s huge potential ahead as we expand into new markets and sectors. I can’t wait to work with the exceptionally talented team here to seize the many opportunities ahead and drive the next phase of growth.”
Watkin said: “I am delighted to join a business with such a proven track record of excellence in its core markets, as well as highly ambitious plans for strategic expansion into new markets and territories. I am looking forward to contributing towards building on the exceptional progress the team has made to date, and accelerating that growth in the years ahead.”
This people news comes hot on the heels of the company’s exciting rebrand news of last week, moving toward the “quantum” in QiH Group” as well as redefining the business’ purpose and strategic direction.
