FORMER NFL, MLB, AND NHL EXECUTIVE STEVE ZIFF JOINS SIMWIN SPORTS AS SPECIAL ADVISOR
SimWin Sports, the world’s first virtual sports league that provides daily fantasy players and esports fans the ability to watch, predict, collect, play, and earn, today announced the appointment of sports sales and marketing executive Steve Ziff as Special Advisor. He will act as a conduit between ownership groups of digital professional sports teams and the SimWin management team to help devise new revenue opportunities.
Ziff has an extensive professional sports team experience portfolio, including C-Suite sales and marketing roles with the Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Commanders, Jacksonville Jaguars, San Diego Padres, and Florida Panthers.
At SimWin, Ziff will develop new ways to best interact with and communicate messages to teams, utilizing best practices from his extensive real-world sports experience from a league-to-team standpoint. The metaverse-based sports league touts a portfolio of celebrity and athlete ownership groups, including team owners like Magic Johnson (Los Angeles Magic), Jerry Rice (Mississippi GOATS), LaMelo Ball (Charlotte Rare), Penny Hardaway (Nashville Knights), and Tracy McGrady (Orlando T-Rex).
Most recently, Ziff was EVP/CMO at Thrill One Sports and Entertainment, the largest action sports company in the world. He was responsible for Thrill One’s traditional marketing and communications functions and overseeing touring, consumer products, and athlete development.
“SimWin Sports’ simulation sports leagues are nothing short of revolutionary for the fantasy sports and Web3 industries,” said Ziff. “Everything about this project is exemplary and trailblazing, and I look forward to sharing my experience with their leadership and team owners to create an ecosystem of success.”
Founded by some of sports gaming’s most celebrated veterans, including CEO David J. Ortiz, who previously led the development of EA SPORTS’ Madden NFL franchise, SimWin Sports is bringing cutting-edge 24/7 fantasy sports to the metaverse, where users can purchase NFT players and earn salaries from teams owned by the world’s biggest stars.
“Steve’s experience in the world of professional sports marketing is critical to our success,” said Ortiz. “His expertise will guide our ownership groups in generating interest and ultimately selling advertising, sponsorships, merchandise, and more as we create new opportunities for growth within the SimWin Sports Metaverse.”
