IESF Concludes Regional Qualifiers for World Esports Championships

African Qualifiers Wrap Up with Five Countries Securing a Spot in Bali
After two thrilling days of competition, the International Esports Federation (IESF) concluded the African regional qualifiers for the World Esports Championships this weekend. Morocco, Nigeria, Algeria, Ivory Coast, and Namibia topped the podiums and will advance directly to the 14th WE Championships in Bali, Indonesia, in December.
The African qualifiers marked the end of the regional qualifiers after several months of action-packed esports competition, including the Panam, Asian and European qualifiers across six game titles: CS:GO, Dota 2, PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legend: Bang Bang, Tekken 7 and eFootball. The winning nations of the regional qualifiers will automatically advance to the finals and the remaining countries will participate in a play-in phase for the last chance to qualify in the finals in Bali.
The countries advancing in the Finals include:
CS:GO – Indonesia, Vietnam, Algeria, North Macedonia, Argentina
CS:GO Female – Poland, Indonesia, Namibia, Argentina
Dota 2 – Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Algeria, North Macedonia, Peru
PubG Mobile – Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Turkiye, Brazil
MLBB – Malaysia, Indonesia, Namibia, Slovenia, Argentina
Tekken 7- Indonesia, Italy, Dominican Republic
eFootball – Indonesia, Serbia, Mexico

Congratulations to the African nations who have just secured their spots and every other nation who fiercely competed to make it to the World Esports Championships Finals. African Esports Vice President Emmanual Oyelakin said: “The Africa Regional Qualifiers was the first ever and it gave African gamers an opportunity to compete for Bali. This event has now produced the best gamers Africa has to offer and we look forward to taking on the rest of the world and making Africa shine.”
The 2022 WE Championships Finals are scheduled to take place from December 1 to 12. The Finals will feature a record $500,000 prize pool, and it remains the sole international esports competition where players compete representing their countries. This year is expected to be the largest and most geographically diverse installment of the event to date.
