Experienced leader to spearhead next stage in company’s evolution
Sportingtech, the multi-award-winning, full-service betting and gaming platform provider, has overhauled its executive team by appointing Bobby Longhurst as its new Managing Director.
Longhurst takes the reins after three successful years as Chief Commercial Officer at Pronet Gaming. Prior to that, he was Commercial Director at SBTech (now DraftKings) and Business Development Manager at Sporting Solutions.
He brings with him a number of senior executives, including Colin McDonagh as Chief Sales Officer, Daniel Stone as Head of Marketing and Anthony Murphy as Head of Commercial Account Management.
Under Longhurst, Sportingtech has ambitious plans to extend its reach in emerging and regulated markets worldwide, as well as lotteries, with its comprehensive sports betting and casino product offering.
The company will also be building on its strong existing presence in a number of global territories, including Latin America, where a wide range of operators already use its flagship Quantum platform.
Bobby Longhurst, Managing Director at Sportingtech, said: “I am delighted to be joining Sportingtech at such an exciting time in its development, as I believe we have a great opportunity to make a real impact in the industry.
“We have a very talented team in place and I’m very pleased that we can add some further management experience to it, to build upon the success the company has enjoyed to date.
“The Quantum platform is constantly evolving to meet the needs of the most ambitious operators and we look forward to showcasing it in the coming weeks and months.”
Sportingtech will make its debut at iGB Live! in Amsterdam this week on Stand R30, where Longhurst and his team will be on hand to discuss the latest opportunities available to both operator partners and fellow suppliers.

Altenar, a leading sports betting and iGaming software provider, has partnered with community chat provider The Watchers to offer social betting.
Through the partnership, Altenar will open the doors to a betting community for players. Whether it is sharing tips, comparing strategies or celebrating wins, social betting adds an extra element of interest to the gambling experience and presents a modern way to boost retention.
Altenar’s external integration with The Watchers allows a separate channel to be created for every event within the sportsbook and authenticated users can chat with each other within the event page. This function allows operators to use influencers to boost site traffic by sharing bets and insights in real time, with users able to copy their bets with one click.
Users can be given the option to create avatars and share bets within the channel, while other players can click on the bet and have their betslips populated. An external back-office tool can be used to handle moderation and natural language recognition to ban words and expressions.
Operators can expect increased turnover due to bet prompts generated by other users while the biggest benefit is building a community of players which promotes brand loyalty.
This latest enhancement to Altenar’s best-in-class solutions demonstrates its ability to keep its partners at the forefront of the industry.
