Betcris completes banner year in 2021, looks ahead to even more success in 2022
2021 was a year of recovery for gaming operators everywhere. Rebounding from the COVID-19 pandemic was a challenge, but companies also learned a lot from the experience. Betcris, Latin America’s leading sports betting operator, had no difficulty finding its footing. It forged ahead in several areas last year and is ready for even more success in 2022.
Betcris was named the Best Latin American Sports Betting Operator for GIA 2021. Betcris was not only honored with the GIA award. It was selected as a finalist for a few categories of the SBC Latinoamérica awards, including Sportsbook of the Year, Sponsorship of the Year (NFL and MLB) and Employer of the Year. Betcris CEO JD Duarte was also a finalist in the Leader of the Year category.
The operator continued to expand its global footprint in 2021. It saw the appointment of Ana María Padrós as its Country Manager of Peru as Betcris saw significant growth and expanded opportunities throughout Latin America. Padrós brought her knowledge and experience in the gaming industry, including that from a successful career at International Game Technology.
Angelo Alberoni, a former executive with Betmotion and Vivagol.com, was added as the Country Manager in Brazil. He has been involved in the gaming industry since 2000. In addition, he is also a partner at VX Comunicação de Portugal and Director of the Brazilian Sports Betting Association, ABAESP.
Betcris also expanded its reach outside of Latin America. It entered Europe with the introduction of new offices in Poland. Betcris enters Poland as the 18th operator to receive a license to operate in the country.
Representatives from Betcris participated in a number of seminars and summits in 2021, both live and virtual. Fernando Garita, the operator’s Business Development Manager, participated in a session of iGaming NEXT’s Power Hour. He was also present for a SiGMA Americas Virtual event, an opportunity for the best in the industry to showcase what is driving growth and innovation.
The SBC Summit Barcelona was held in September, bringing together leaders and experts from the industry to discuss the latest movements. Duarte participated in that event, discussing the evolving market and the technology that is making a difference.
Betcris was also a Gold Sponsor of the SAGSE Miami.
Betcris awarded its customers with an opportunity to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
It presented travel packages to several of its users to see the MLB All-Star Game live in Colorado, and also awarded a trip to see the upcoming Super Bowl in person.
In always wanting to deliver the best experience to its users, Betcris signed a new sports data agreement with Genius Sports, the leading global supplier of digital sports content and integrity services. It incorporated Genius Sports’ innovative technology to power immersive live experiences for millions of sports fans throughout Latin America. Betcris also gained access to Genius Sports’ proprietary, official data and live video feeds from over 120,000 events per year, including its official NFL data products, dynamic content and player acquisition and retention solutions.
In 2021 Betcris also consolidated its position as an ally of the NFL and MLB for Latin America, Official Bookmaker of the Mexican Soccer Team and presented two new sponsorships: The Betcris Pro League in Ecuador and the Betcris League in Honduras, both first soccer divisions in their countries.
More development and innovation are on the horizon this year. Betcris learned what is needed to keep the momentum of the company going during the pandemic. It will make digital growth and enhancement a priority in 2022 and will also explore market growth.
