Sportradar and NBC Sports Regional Networks Announce Data and Content Partnership to Engage Next-Generation Sports Fans
Sportradar, a leading global provider of sports betting and sports entertainment products and services, and the NBC Sports Regional Networks announced a data and content partnership. As part of the agreement, Sportradar provides the NBC Sports Regional Networks a comprehensive suite of solutions and offerings from the company’s best-in-class Broadcast Services to enhance its live-game coverage. The expanded arrangement builds upon Sportradar and NBC Sports Regional Networks’ existing betting data and content partnership, which most recently produced an alternative betting broadcast of a Chicago Bulls game on April 22.
At the heart of this relationship, the NBC Sports Regional Networks are leveraging Sportradar’s expertise in seamlessly bringing together live sports and data to drive fan engagement. With access to Sportradar’s live data interface, the NBC Sports Regional Networks delivers faster data updates on-screen and richer, more captivating graphics to complement live game action. The NBC Sports Regional Networks also benefit from Sportradar’s experience with specialized league data (MLB Statcast powered by Google Cloud, NBA Advanced Stats), which allows them to track deeper and more insightful storylines throughout the course of a game. Paired together, these products and datasets enable the NBC Sports Regional Networks to drive more personalized storytelling based on the market and specific fan interests.
“Sportradar is excited to expand its relationship with the NBC Sports Regional Networks as they continue to evolve their offerings to further engage the next-generation sports fan,” said Brian Josephs, Vice President, Digital Sport, Sportradar. “NBC Sports Regional Networks are iconic and have shaped the way that fans watch their favorite teams and athletes. Our technology platform and 360-degree approach enable them to tap into a number of our capabilities and will give them the flexibility they need to create tailored experiences that meet the changing demands and expectations of their audiences.”
“The NBC Sports Regional Networks are committed to delivering impactful, entertaining and informative live-game experiences, and continuing to experiment and enhance our coverage through technology and innovation,” said Jon Slobotkin, Senior Vice President, Content and Live Programming for NBC Sports Regional Networks. “Advanced data is a significant component of those efforts, and Sportradar delivers the services and capabilities we need to best serve fans and meet their evolving preferences for how they consume content covering their favorite teams and players.”
