Betfair Receives Five-year iGaming License in Colombia
Coljuegos, the gambling regulator in Colombia, has awarded a five-year igaming license to sports betting exchange Betfair.
The license will allow Betfair to operate betting on real sporting and non-sporting events, online slots, roulette, and blackjack. The operator is expected to contribute COP$23bn ($6.5m) to the Colombian economy.
Coljuegos said that with the approval of the seventeenth authorized gambling website in the jurisdiction, the gaming sector in Colombia has proven itself to be an attractive opportunity for national and international businesses.
Coljuegos president César Augusto Valencia Galiano emphasized the importance of gambling with regulated operators in order to ensure security, the proper handling of personal and financial information, and the availability of responsible gambling resources.
“The portals authorised by Coljuegos guarantee the delivery of the prizes, the protection of data and the proper functioning of the platforms,” he said.
“We must remind all Colombians that operating unauthorised platforms leads to committing a crime for which penalties ranging from six to eight years in prison and fines of approximately COP$272m for each establishment can be incurred; point of sale, outlet or vendor.”

Vasco and Betfair Close the Biggest Master Sponsorship in the Club’s History

“It is an honor and an achievement to close this partnership, the largest in Vasco’s history, with Betfair. There were weeks of intense work to get the best for our club with a huge and consolidated company. We still have challenges ahead, but our commitment to working seriously and hard for Vasco continues,” Lúcio Barbosa, CEO of Vasco, said.
“The partnership between Vasco and Betfair is not just a master sponsorship on the team’s shirt, it is also a strategic collaboration based on shared values, excellence and passion for football, respecting the greatness of its history, but also strengthening investment in project within the Rio team to help develop the club’s present and future. For us at Betfair, we are delighted to work together with a team that has growth objectives to strengthen the ties between the two brands. We are very excited to bring Vasco fans exclusive experiences that only Betfair can offer to bring fans even closer to their club, their heart and all the action of each match,” Kimberly Daly, General Director of Betfair International, said.
The contract model is innovative, and is based on a culture of cooperation between companies, providing for deliveries that go beyond the properties on the shirts. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube Join Forces with Betfair
The newly promoted Brazilian Serie A side, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube have landed a new sponsorship agreement with the UK-based operator, Betfair.
As part of the agreement, the betting firm’s logo is incorporated on the chest of the club’s shirt, which is back in Serie A of the Brazilian Championship after a recent promotion after three years.
The agreement covers the men’s team and an essential space for brand awareness on the women’s kits – on the back, at the top.
Gabriel Lima, CEO of the club, said: “This historic partnership is the size of Cruzeiro. It has a lot of strength, a huge potential. The club is going through a very special moment. With serious and professional work, we are recovering the fans’ trust, which is fundamental for us. Closing with Betfair, one of the giants in its segment, is an important step on Cruzeiro’s way back to its well-deserved prominent position in Brazilian football.”
Furthermore, a series of activations aimed directly at the approximately 10 million fans that comprise Naço Azul, including raffles and awards for VIP tickets and official products, exclusive promotions and experiences with Raposa talent, will be held.

“This partnership is a demonstration of Betfair’s commitment and investment in the club’s professional men’s and women’s teams, without losing focus on what is most precious to Cruzeiro: the fans. With Betfair, the game is different, and we put fans at the heart of everything we do to bring them experiences that only Betfair can offer.”
