Investing in the Future: Amusnet Modernises Facilities at the Technical University of Sofia

Reading Time: 2 minutes
As the new academic year begins, students at the Technical University of Sofia have been presented with a significant upgrade to their learning environment: a fully modernised lecture hall where Bulgaria’s future engineers and IT specialists will be educated. The renovation was actualised through an investment of nearly BGN 400,000 by Amusnet, recognised as the leading software company in 2024. The initiative represents a strategic investment to shape the next generation of engineers and IT specialists to meet evolving market demands.
At an official ceremony, the university’s Rector, Prof. Georgi Venkov, and Amusnet’s Chief Executive Officer, Ivo Georgiev, formally launched the academic year in the new hall. Together, the two parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, establishing a framework for future joint initiatives, including hackathons, open lectures and career days.
“We believe that investment in education is a direct investment in the future. With this renovation, we are not merely establishing a modern academic setting; we are investing in the human capital that will drive our country’s technological progress,” commented Ivo Georgiev, CEO of Amusnet.
Rector Prof. Georgi Venkov added that the modernisation is “a critical step in the university’s commitment to providing its students with contemporary facilities for learning and development, in synergy with the needs of the business sector.”
The renovated auditorium now adheres to contemporary European standards, featuring a modern climate control system, high-efficiency lighting, multimedia equipment and 252 new seats. The space has been transformed into a comfortable and functional environment, integrating convenience and technology to support a high-quality educational curriculum.
This initiative is a key component of Amusnet’s comprehensive strategy to support the educational sector. In 2024, the company donated servers to the Technical University of Sofia and the Technical University of Gabrovo to modernize their infrastructure, ensuring the availability of advanced technological resources for academic and research activities.
The partnership between Amusnet and the Technical University of Sofia aims to bridge the gap between the corporate and academic spheres, offering students higher-level learning conditions and opportunities for professional advancement.
