Since entering the Greek market, Betsson has placed social contribution at the core of its local operations, consistently investing in initiatives across health, sport and education that benefit local communities.
During the event, several projects were presented, such as the series “Betsson in your Village,” presented by TV personality and Betsson ambassador Grigoris Arnaoutoglou. Through this initiative, defibrillators are donated to remote communities across Greece, enhancing emergency health infrastructure where it is needed most.
Key partnerships were also celebrated, reflecting Betsson’s belief in the power of sport as a platform for social good. Betsson’s broader social responsibility programme in Greece also includes partnerships with organisations such as Bloode, which promotes awareness and voluntary blood donation, and the Greek Association of Women Entrepreneurs (SEGE), which supports female entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.
Thanos Marinos, Managing Director of Betsson Greece, said: “Betsson has successfully delivered numerous meaningful initiatives, as highlighted in this event. I am particularly proud that many of these actions reflect our deep desire to be an active and positive force in society. This commitment is a fundamental pillar of our company, not only in Greece, but across all the markets in which we operate.
“From sponsoring Boca Juniors in Argentina, to Inter in Italy, and of course OFI in Crete – who reached the Greek Cup Final this year – our goal is to build relationships that extend beyond the pitch and truly connect with the communities around us.
“None of this would be possible without our partners who share our vision, and the Betsson employees whose passion, empathy, and dedication drive these efforts forward.”
At part of the event, honorary plaques were presented to partners and organisations in recognition of their contribution and contributions.
Looking ahead, Betsson also announced its CSR focus for 2025: raising awareness and promoting the prevention of bullying. Through targeted campaigns, Betsson aims to foster a culture of respect, inclusion and acceptance.
With consistency and purpose, Betsson continues to invest in initiatives that make a lasting and positive difference in society.
