Simplebet sees nearly $4 million wagered on College Football National Championship game
Simplebet, the global leader in micro betting products, has celebrated a landmark College Football season by enjoying an historic performance on the College Football (CFB) National Championship Game between the TCU Horned Frogs and Georgia Bulldogs.
Simplebet’s handle of nearly $4 million came across key operator partners such as bet365, DraftKings, Caesars and Betr, during the event on Monday night, which saw Georgia win back-to-back titles. This was a notable increase on the $1.7m in the same game in 2022.
The provider’s micro betting markets have proved popular throughout the CFB season, with more than 2.1m bets placed.
The National Championship alone saw 158,000 wagers placed during the duration of the game which marked an 226% increase on the previous year.
The most bet on market by the provider was Drive result exact – which allows bettors to bet on whether a Drive will result in a Touchdown, Field Goal attempt, Punt or Turnover.
Interestingly, 46.6% of bets and 50.1% of handle came in the 2nd half of the game demonstrating the incremental activity micro betting enables when traditional markets become less attractive in blowouts.
More than 22% of all betting activity came from the state of New York, as the culmination of the CFB season was yet again one of the sporting and wagering highlights in the calendar.
Simplebet CEO, Chris Bevilacqua, said: “The CFB National Championship was another fantastic occasion for Simplebet, and one that saw historic numbers for our micro betting markets.”
“With just shy of $4 million being wagered on the game through our offering, the power of betting in the moment was yet again evident, and there were some big wins on key moments during the game. Even though the end result was a formality from half time, due to the nature of our markets, we were able to keep players engaged and entertained throughout – even if it became predictable at points, with Georgia averaging a point a snap at one stage!
“It capped a fantastic CFB season for us, and we couldn’t be happier with the popularity of our micro betting markets. Having the opportunity to bet on the game-defining plays of a fixture will always engage fans, and we’re proud of what we have achieved over the course of this season.”
Simplebet has developed a suite of innovative micro betting products for the NFL, NBA, MLB, college football and college basketball. The company enables sports betting operators, media companies and technology companies to enhance live sports by offering engaging experiences in real-time with its proprietary automated operations platform.
