Republic Realm Launches Surprise GFTs with Atari
Republic Realm, one of the most active developers of the metaverse and NFT ecosystem, announced today the launch of the inaugural collection of GFTs in partnership with Atari, one of the world’s most iconic brands.
GFTs are NFTs designed for gifting, and they initially appear like wrapped gift boxes but “unwrap” on a specific date to reveal a surprise inside the box. Each GFT is an NFT, or a non-fungible token on the Ethereum blockchain. The inaugural edition of GFT collectibles is designed to commemorate 2022 being Atari’s 50th year in business. The Atari collection includes 10 GFTs inspired by titles from Atari’s 50-year legacy in video games. Each GFT will be produced in a limited quantity, with some more rare than others.
“The Atari brand is synonymous with video games, and video gaming is the backbone of the metaverse. What better way to commemorate Atari’s 50th anniversary than by ushering in a new era of technological innovation while also honoring the brand that launched the modern video game industry?” said Wade Rosen, CEO of Atari.
The Atari Commemorative GFT is the first of many future GFT projects by Republic Realm based around beloved brands which will be featured in the GFT Shoppe, a metaverse-based e-commerce platform and retail store.
“GFTs are like Hallmark Cards for the next generation, a more exciting, meaningful gift than either a greeting card or a gift certificate. We are so excited to kick off the grand opening of Republic Realm’s GFT Shoppe with an iconic brand like Atari, and look forward to announcing more brand collaborations in the future,” said Janine Yorio, CEO of Republic Realm.
GFT is a patented NFT technology designed and developed by Republic Realm, the company best known for developing the record-breaking Metaflower Mega Yacht, an NFT yacht that sold for 149 ETH ($650,000) in the Sandbox metaverse.

Anomura Enters into Partnership with Atari
Anomura, a gaming experience fusing wildlife conservation awareness through compelling gameplay, has partnered with Atari, a founding member of the arcade game, game console, and personal computer industries. This is a mutual opportunity to showcase the capabilities of both the gaming industries and blockchain technology. Through this partnership, Atari creates an exclusive mint experience for Anomura integrating assets from games like Asteroids, Adventure, PONG, Centepede, Atari Arcade, Atari 2600, and more while also exploring future in-game integration of elements and games to explore interoperability within Anomura and beyond.
Atari evokes nostalgia as one of the first at-home gaming systems created in 1977. The Atari 2600 became one of the most popular gaming systems in history, with sales of over 30 million over the span of three decades. In recent years, Atari has entered the blockchain gaming space by launching Atari X, a robust blockchain ecosystem that intertwines gaming, community, and utility. Atari X consolidates Atari’s blockchain interests into a unified operation that is wholly controlled by Atari.
Anomura leverages its retro style to help facilitate Atari’s push into the forward-looking world of Web3 gaming. In celebration, Anomura will be increasing its NFT supply by 800 to provide additional opportunities for minting.
Created and built by NFT Game Director Long Do, Anomura is the by-product of years of research that combines experiences Do has encountered as both a developer and longtime gamer himself. Anomura sits under the wing of Virtually Human Studios (VHS), creators of ZED RUN. VHS continues diving into supporting projects promoting accessibility and inclusivity in the Web3 space. The entertainment brand’s recent launch of Human Park—a metaverse experience with extremely low entry barriers—was its first venture into bridging the gap between the masses and Web3, and the backing of Anomura continues the trend.
“Anomura is proud to be the bridge between the original gaming console and blockchain gaming. By partnering with a gaming giant like Atari, we hope to build a completely new gaming adventure. We hope to leverage Anomura’s unique style with Atari’s technology to create the most immersive in-game experience that pushes forward the gaming industry,” Long Do, Game Director of Anomura, said.
“Fans of Atari will love to see their favorite classic games integrated into Anomura’s Web3 games. We are excited to collaborate with Anomura as they create the next generation of blockchain gaming,” Tyler Drewitz, Director of Atari Xof Atari X, said.

Atari Unveils New Logo for its 50th Anniversary
Atari, the pioneering video game brand and interactive entertainment producer, revealed a commemorative 50th Anniversary logo that celebrates the five decades since Atari launched the modern video game industry.
The new commemorative logo incorporates Atari’s iconic “Fuji,” which will continue to serve as the primary Atari brandmark and has been named the “GoldSchool Sunnyvale” logo as a tribute to the legendary original Atari internal design studio, based in Sunnyvale, California, and also to acknowledge the “golden anniversary” of the games industry Atari helped launch.
The new Atari 50th Anniversary logo will be used across marketing communications, on games, and on first-party and licensed products through the end of the 2022 golden anniversary year. Atari will celebrate its official anniversary on 27 June 2022, 50 years since the date the company was originally incorporated.
Atari was founded in 1972 by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney. The company played a formative role in the video game industry, introducing a series of world-renowned brands like Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command, Pong, and others to the gaming lexicon as well as the first widely adopted home video game console with swappable cartridges, the iconic Atari 2600. Five decades later, the company remains an active and innovative brand, globally recognized for its multi-platform, interactive entertainment, and licensed products.
“On behalf of the entire Atari team, I’m proud to unveil this commemorative logo and launch the celebration of our 50th anniversary. Atari has an exciting year ahead, filled with new and commemorative products that will delight our fans; including the launch of new premium game titles, new business initiatives, and several really exciting lifestyle product collaborations,” Wade Rosen, CEO of Atari, said.
