Hokkaido IR Included in 2023-27 Public Policy Plan

The Japanese prefecture of Hokkaido seems to be resurrecting its plans to bid to develop an integrated resort. The island’s prefecture has included the promotion of an IR in the latest draft of its 2023-2027 policy plan. Public comment is open until January 16.
The mayor of Tomakomai Hirofumi Iwakura has reiterated his support for an IR after local elections in June. He suggested the city’s Uenae area would be the preferred location.
It had previously been expected that Hokkaido may bid for an IR in this year’s national contest for three possible licences, but governor Naomichi Suzuki finally said that the prefecture wouldn’t bid in the first round of IRs. The governor cited practical concerns, such as environmental impact but said an IR could be proposed in the future.
The two contenders for the first round of IR licences are Osaka and Nagasaki. They have submitted IR District Development Plans and are waiting for a decision from the national government. That decision’s taking longer than expected, leading to concerns that the proposed IRs may not meet their proposed opening dates of 2029 and 2027.
The Land Ministry has said that the screening process has dragged on due to talks between the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and local governments.

NODWIN Gaming, a leader in new-age youth entertainment, gaming, and esports, has announced that DreamHack India 2025, India’s largest digital festival, will return to Hyderabad this year as part of Hyderabad Comic Con 2025, one of the nation’s biggest pop culture celebration. The mega three-day event will take place from October 31 to November 2, 2025, giving fans the ultimate festival of gaming, comics, cosplay, and fandom culture under one roof.
Adding to the excitement, DreamHack India celebrates its 6th anniversary this year, marking a milestone moment for India’s gaming community. DreamHack has become a staple of India’s esports and gaming calendar, featuring electrifying LAN tournaments, cosplay contests, tech expos, retro zones, meet & greets with leading streamers and creators, and its fan-favourite Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) zones.
The BYOD zone remains one of DreamHack’s most iconic experiences. Here, attendees can bring their own PC, console, or mobile setup to game together across three days, surrounded by friends, creators, and fellow enthusiasts. For working professionals and college students, BYOD offers the perfect weekend gaming getaway, an immersive break from routine where you and your crew can compete, connect, and play nonstop in a true festival atmosphere. This year, fans will also have the option to rent a high-performance PC on site, making it easier than ever to jump straight into the action without carrying heavy equipment.
Together, DreamHack x Hyderabad Comic Con 2025 will host an unparalleled lineup of activities, including:
- PAN FEST (BGMI) – An open-for-all BGMI competition with daily lobbies, giving every fan a chance to drop in solo or squad up with friends and battle it out live at the festival.

- Chess at DreamHack – A battle of minds featuring Rapid and Blitz formats, where classic strategy meets DreamHack’s competitive stage, drawing in both seasoned players and curious fans.
- BYOD Tournaments – The heart of DreamHack, where fans can bring their own PCs, consoles, or mobiles (or rent one on-site) to game non-stop across three days with friends, communities, and creators.
- Retro & Board Games Zone – A nostalgia-packed zone featuring classics like Contra, Pac-Man, and Tetris alongside all-time board game favourites like Monopoly, Carrom, and Ludo for fans looking for a fun, casual break.
Speaking on the announcement, Akshat Rathee, Co-founder and Managing Director, NODWIN Gaming, said: “Over the past six years, our partnership with DreamHack has built some of India’s most iconic gaming moments, and blending it with Comic Con has created a one-of-a-kind celebration where gaming meets pop culture. Hyderabad’s fans have always brought unmatched energy, and last year’s three-day format proved just how powerful this fusion can be. This October, we’re coming back bigger and bolder than ever with everything from comic book launches, spectacular cosplay showcases, music and comedy performances, and geeky shopping to esports tournaments, chess, retro, and tabletop games, all under one roof.”
Shefali Johnson, CEO, Comic Con India, added: “What makes Hyderabad Comic Con truly magical is how it brings every kind of fan under one roof, from cosplay enthusiasts and comic collectors to gamers and creators. Last year, over 40,000 fans cheered as Wagh Suyog was crowned champion in both the Blitz and Rapid Chess formats, a perfect example of how competition, creativity, and community thrive together here. This year, by joining forces with DreamHack once again, we’re taking that spirit to the next level. Fans can look forward to three unforgettable days where pop culture, gaming, and fandom collide like never before.”
Comic Con India has been the nation’s definitive pop culture destination for over a decade, bringing together comics, anime, movies, television, and cosplay in five major cities. This year, Hyderabad Comic Con returns earlier than ever with more experiences, more fandom, and more entertainment than before.

Ta ‘Xbiex, Malta, September 2025: The Wildz Group is pleased to announce an impressive new addition to its flagship Wildz platform: Video-On-Demand product Wildz TV.
Wildz TV is a rich content offering that takes into account the popularity of Video On Demand (VOD). The service delivers rich media entertainment created by guest presenters that enhances the iGaming user experience within the sportsbook and online casino verticals.
As the first Wildz Group brand to provide a full sportsbook offering that accompanies its popular online casino within the same platform, Wildz is the ideal space to boost the enjoyment even more by introducing VOD content. Aligning with the brand’s ‘GET MORE’ payoff line, this complete entertainment suite provides streaming, live chat and 24/7 customer support, setting the bar high for one-stop leisure gaming.
Embracing the trend
VOD content is sweeping the globe as the preferred option chosen by customers seeking to make the most of their leisure activities, allowing them exclusive access to content suited to their tastes (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ being notable examples). According to Markets dot com, in 2023 the VOD market size was valued at USD 146.6 billion, and it’s forecast to balloon to USD 270.3 billion by 2028, with a CAGR of 13%. It made sense to the Wildz team that this trend will inevitably dominate gambling entertainment, too, leading to the creation of a VOD tier of video action in Wildz TV.
Wildz hosts the phenomenal team at Gämblerscast to showcase how this works. They’re renowned for their razor-sharp commentary and insights. Viewers can enjoy Gämblerscast episodes, explore dedicated Gämblers Picks for selected sports and even dip into the Gämblers Favourite Slots.
About Gämblerscast
The collective at Gämblerscast has been amassing a growing following of enthusiasts on Twitch, YouTube and TikTok. As gambling enthusiasts, they know exactly how to create content that appeals to players, including insights, observations, humour and plenty of fun. This winning combination makes them a great fit as the first-ever team to be hosted on Wildz.
The added value of VOD
Players get the opportunity to access exclusive content for a modest premium, content that’s designed to match their interests. While Hulu and Paramount+ (for example) cater to mass markets, sites such as Wildz TV can provide niche content.
Contained behind a paywall, VOD entertainment is perfect for gambling as it underscores the importance of providing access to content according to Responsible Gaming principles and guidelines. Better yet, this source of revenue for entertainers offers a more sustainable form of entertainment that allows others to explore their creativity, too.
Jani Koskinen, Chief Marketing Officer at Wildz Group, says, “VOD is the way forward for gambling platforms seeking to acquire, entertain, engage, and retain players. We’ve seen a great impact from hosting the Gämblerscast team and premium sports events, and we anticipate quality engagement as we explore the benefits of offering rich and exclusive media to our customers. Welcome to the future of iGaming entertainment!”
Wildz TV is yet another reason players are moving to Wildz and sticking around for more quality gambling entertainment.
