Ak-Chin Indian Community granted state license to offer mobile sports betting

Tribe announces strategic partnership with Fubo Gaming Inc.
The Ak-Chin Indian Community is pleased to announce the Community has been awarded a special license to provide online sports betting via a mobile app, accessible within Arizona. Subsequent to the license being awarded, the Community announced its partnership with Fubo Gaming Inc. to develop and operate a market-leading Fubo mobile app for online sports wagering.
Under the State’s newly-approved gaming compact, the Ak-Chin Indian Community will also have authority to develop and operate a sportsbook at its Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino & Resort.
“This is a tremendously exciting day for the entire Ak-Chin Indian Community,” said Ak-Chin Chairman Robert Miguel. “With this sports betting license and our strategic partnership with Fubo Sports, we know we’ll be able to offer our customers the kind of premier entertainment experience they’ve come to expect from Ak-Chin, whether they visit our sportsbook in-person or online.”
As dictated by a new state law, the Arizona Department of Gaming allocated 10 sports betting licenses to tribes, which are entitled to partner with a third party to develop and operate their sportsbook and mobile app.
“We are thrilled to partner with Ak-Chin for a market access agreement in Arizona,” said Scott Butera, president, Fubo Gaming. “Our comprehensive sports entertainment experience will combine real-money wagering with fuboTV’s live sports offering for a seamless user experience enabling consumers to wager while they watch. Arizonans are passionate professional and collegiate sports fans who we believe will enjoy the market defining Fubo Sportsbook.”
Sportsbooks are permitted to begin marketing activities and signing-up Arizona customers immediately. The first sports wagers can be placed Sept. 9, 2021.
