Poker’s richest tournament will see its champion take home a $12.1 million first-place prize and pay out 1,507 players from a whopping $93,399,900 total prize pool

The World Series of Poker’s historic summer has hit another exciting milestone. With final registration closed, the WSOP Main Event has shattered its all-time attendance record officially welcoming 10,043 entrants making the 54th annual edition the richest tournament in live poker history.

With the entrants that stood for 17 years now broken, the WSOP sets its sights on a final table to be remembered and a huge first-place prize to be awarded to the eventual undisputed world champion of poker. This year’s final table of nine players will enjoy historic payouts including $12.1 million for first place, $6.5 million for runner-up and an impressive $900,000 for the first player sent home.

“This is an all-time summer for the WSOP,” the WSOP Senior Vice-President and Executive Director, Ty Stewart, said. “Week after week we saw record fields, so it’s only fitting that we break the biggest record of all. 10,000 players is historic for the industry and this year’s champion will be remembered as the one to conquer the richest event in poker history, well at least until 2024.”

The 2023 WSOP Main Event champion will also take home the 2023 Main Event gold bracelet, considered to be the richest trophy in all of sports. 54th annual tournament delivers the largest WSOP Main Event in
history, record prize pools and attendance records in more than ten events

Following eight historic weeks of non-stop play, the 54th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) officially concluded at the Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas on July 18. The 2023 tournament was nothing short of incredible, shattering twelve long-held records including the largest Main Event entrant field in the history of the WSOP and surprising with celebrity appearances from the likes of chef and restaurateur Guy Fieri, WNBA all-star guard Kelsey Plum, boxing champion Ryan Garcia, former soccer star Sergio Aguero and more.

The summer’s action concluded with Daniel Weinman’s historic Main Event win, making him the first American to take home the World Champion title since 2018 and cementing him in poker history as the player to take down the largest Main Event field ever.

“Poker is back and it never went anywhere,” the Senior Vice-President and Executive Director for the WSOP, Ty Stewart, said. “Establishing records all summer long and crossing the unthinkable 10,000 entry mark is huge not just for the WSOP but for the game itself. We look forward to continuing the momentum through the rest of the year with WSOP Circuit Events, WSOP Europe and the new WSOP Paradise. Of course, it’s never too early to plan your trip for 2024.”

Chef, restaurateur and Emmy Award-winning television host unveils the prestigious trophy to be awarded to the winner of the biggest WSOP Main Event in history

Earlier today, chef and restaurateur Guy Fieri arrived at the 54th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event in grand fashion to deliver the richest trophy in all of sports. Fieri rolled into the Horseshoe Events Center on a golf cart adorned in flames, flanked by The Knight Line presented by Drumbots and ten WSOP ambassadors before making his way to the Main Event Final Table to unveil this year’s highly coveted WSOP Main Event gold bracelet.

“I heard this year’s WSOP Main Event is shattering records, so I had to come to check it out for myself,” Fieri said. “The WSOP Main Event bracelet is out-of-bounds and whoever wins it will need some extra fuel to become poker’s undisputed World Champion. My new restaurant, Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Sports Kitchen at Horseshoe Las Vegas, is officially open and ready to rock for poker players and anyone who enjoys killer, scratch-made food.”

Considered the richest trophy in sports, the 2023 Main Event gold bracelet is custom-made by Jostens featuring approximately 500 grams of ten-karat yellow gold, 2,352 various precious gemstones including 42 carats of round genuine diamonds, 425 black and red stones to accentuate the suits and a removable golden poker chip that sits in the center of the bracelet. With more than 9,500 entrants and counting, the WSOP has officially shattered the attendance record for its Main Event, making the 2023 edition the richest tournament in live poker history. The record falls 17 years after Jamie Gold defeated a crowd of 8,773 entrants in 2006 before the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) changed the poker landscape, leaving doubt that the 2006 record could ever be broken.

“Who better to bring the bling,” the WSOP Senior Vice-President and Executive Director, Ty Stewart, said. “This is the biggest event in poker history, so we needed someone who loves going big to do the honors. We’d like to thank Guy for being part of the 2023 WSOP. Win or lose on the tables, Flavortown is now the official after-party location for poker players.”

The WSOP Main Event’s record turnout guarantees that someone in the field will win a ‘Main Event Seat for Life’ or a complimentary entry to the Main Event for the next 30 years. That drawing, amongst all registrants in the 2023 Main Event, will take place shortly after registration officially closes at 4:40pm on Saturday, July 8.

Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Sports Kitchen, the second full-service Guy Fieri restaurant on The Strip, is adjacent to the Caesars Sportsbook desk at Horseshoe Las Vegas. Hours are Sunday through Thursday from 7am to 10pm and Friday and Saturday from 7am to midnight. Fans looking to visit Flavortown can make reservations at Caesars .com/Horseshoe-Las-Vegas/ Restaurants/Guy-Fieris-Flavortown-Sports-Kitchen.

The action continues past the Main Event with 25 WSOP bracelet events left to play and qualify for, including the $1,500 Closer Event on Friday, July 14. The full WSOP tournament schedule can be found at Https:// WSOP .com/Tournaments.

Caesars Entertainment Inc., in partnership with the Arizona Diamondbacks, announced that Caesars Sportsbook at Chase Field is officially open. The two-story, 22,300 square-foot entertainment destination is located adjacent to Chase Field in Downtown Phoenix and is now the largest freestanding sportsbook in Arizona and the largest retail sportsbook to open in partnership with a major sports stadium nationwide.

This new, first-class sportsbook and full-service restaurant combo is unlike any opened to date. The venue features a total of nine betting windows and 13 self-service betting kiosks as well as wall-to-wall flatscreen televisions, breathtaking patio space, along with table and plush lounge-style seating on both floors with a total capacity of more than 425. Private space is also available to rent.

An opening event was held on June 21 featuring remarks from Caesars and D-backs representatives, a first bite sampling of menu items and ceremonial first bets, as well as a donation of $20,000 by Caesars to the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation.

“We’re extremely proud to bring Caesars Sportsbook and Guy Fieri’s Kitchen + Bar to Chase Field and Downtown Phoenix. “What an incredible day for our fans, sports enthusiasts, guests and especially for our organization. We are proud to partner with Caesars Entertainment and Guy Fieri, to bring a year-round first-class sportsbook, restaurant and event space to Downtown Phoenix. Everything about this dynamic venue, from the food to the design to the service, has been meticulously planned for an unmatched guest experience,” D-backs President & CEO Derrick Hall said.

Bloc9 Architecture served as architect on the project in partnership with Borisoff Design Studio while The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company served as general contractor to create a venue that conveys the Caesars Sportsbook brand in a modern way through a lively and contemporary space fit for a Caesar.

“I’ve worked with the Caesars team for nearly a decade opening restaurants all over the country together. They are the best of the best. The idea of bringing this next-level restaurant concept to Arizona, a place where I have showcased more than 30 restaurants through ‘Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives’ over the years, was a no-brainer for me. Thank you to the D-backs and Caesars for making it happen,” Fieri said.
