Rewire partners with Paysafe to drive financial inclusion for migrants through cash management

Leveraging Paysafe’s eCash solution Paysafecash, Rewire is set to provide financial services to cash-reliant migrant communities across 17 European countries

Rewire, a cross-border financial services platform tailored to the unique needs of migrant workers from developing countries in Asia and Africa, has partnered with leading specialised payments platform, Paysafe to enable access to financial services for cash-reliant consumers across the UK and Europe.

Rewire promotes financial inclusion by providing access to the financial services migrants need in their country of origin and in their new home such as remittance services, local payment accounts (IBAN), debit cards, cross-border family accounts, insurances, bill payments and more. The integration of Paysafe’s eCash solution, Paysafecash, enables Rewire customers to deposit cash into their online accounts, which can in turn be used to fund their financial activities. The service is now available in the UK and will soon be rolled out across another 16 European countries*.

Global migration trends indicate that the migrant population is growing at a faster pace than the general population, meaning that each year, the number of people who migrate is higher than the number of births1. As the world population shuffles and people from developing countries manage to work hard in wealthier countries in order to gain financial security for themselves and their families, industry figures still indicate that approximately two billion people worldwide remain unbanked and cannot access traditional financial services2. This is exactly where the joint vision of Rewire and Paysafe, to include migrants in the financial systems, comes in.

There are more than 200,000 Paysafecash payment locations across nearly 30 countries worldwide, and close to 90,000 payment locations in the 17 European countries where the Paysafecash deposit option will be available for Rewire customers. To deposit cash into their accounts, Rewire customers simply select Paysafecash as the top-up method online or via their mobile app and choose the exact amount to be deposited. This generates a unique barcode for the transaction, which is then scanned at the point-of-sale terminal at a nearby Paysafecash payment location. They can make the payment in cash to complete the transaction and the amount immediately gets credited to their Rewire accounts.

Guy Kashtan, Co-Founder and CEO at Rewire, commented, “Partnering with Paysafe to incorporate Paysafecash as part of Rewire’s solution makes perfect sense as our customers are generally an underbanked population that need to digitise their cash in order to manage it on Rewire’s platform. Paysafecash allows our customers to fund their accounts using cash, which is an essential aspect in extending the reach of our services and making them more accessible for these financially underserved communities. Paysafecash’s extensive global network of payment locations makes it the ideal partner for us to support financial inclusion of migrant workers with easily accessible online services and fair fees, particularly for their cross-border needs.”

Udo Müller, CEO of Paysafe’s eCash division, added: “We are extremely pleased that our partnership with Rewire allows us to leverage the unique advantages of our Paysafecash payment solution to support migrant communities in Europe and make much needed financial services more accessible. When you complement our extensive network of payment locations with strong partners that provide essential services, you end up with a really impactful solution that answers the pain points of a significant portion of society.”

ICONIC21 has rolled out three limited-edition Football Cup-branded casino games and launched its first network tournament, ICONIC Showdown Football Cup, running from 9th of July to 19th of July.

The new titles are Football Cup Roulette, Football Cup Blackjack 360, and Football Cup Gravity Blackjack. ICONIC21 said the releases showcase different customisation approaches, including green screen production for the roulette environment and an updated visual rebrand for its RNG blackjack table.

For Football Cup Gravity Blackjack, ICONIC21 said it used its latest LED technology and applied the Gravity Series multiplier mechanic, with a custom felt, a football gate, and bespoke 3D-printed decorations.

Alongside the three new games, ICONIC21 pointed to its previously launched slot Soccer World Championship, plus The Kickoff and Top Card, which it said received football-season branding and UI/UX updates.

The ICONIC Showdown Football Cup tournament covers 11 games in total and is positioned around the quarter finals, semi-finals and final period. ICONIC21 said 1,000 winners will share a €50,000 prize pool, and operators can enroll via their account manager or by contacting the company directly.

Edvardas Sadovskis, Chief Product Officer at ICONIC21, said:

“What I’m most proud of with this project is the turnaround. We built three fully branded, technically distinct games, enhanced existing ones with promotional branding, and launched our first-ever network tournament around them, all timed to coincide with peak player interest and traffic.

That kind of speed doesn’t happen by accident, it reflects how this team works. ICONIC Showdown is a meaningful first step for us as a provider, and launching it during the Football Cup, with this much energy around the game, feels like the right way to do it. We’re genuinely excited to see how the leaderboard shapes up and even more excited for the finals.”

Swedish Gambling Authority consults tighter duty of care rules as channelisation slips

swedish-gambling-authority-consults-tighter-duty-of-care-rules-as-channelisation-slips

The Swedish Gambling Authority (SGA) has opened a consultation on new gambling responsibility (spelansvar) regulations that would replace the current Regulations and General Advice on Responsible Gambling (LIFS 2018:2). The consultation was issued on 16 June 2026, with stakeholders given until 10 August 2026 to submit comments.

According to the consultation summary, the draft rules would formalise parts of existing Swedish case law while adding “new, detailed and strict requirements” for licensed operators. The proposals cover player monitoring and assessment factors, earlier intervention expectations, expanded mandatory responsible gambling measures, documentation and Duty of Care Action Plan requirements, player communications, and more detailed provisions on responsible gambling logos and limits for login and deposits.

The consultation lands as the regulator reports a slight dip in channelisation. In its latest report, the SGA estimates that 84% of Swedish consumer gambling took place with licensed operators during 2025, down from 85% in 2024. The authority also estimates that around 94% of players used a licensed operator at least once during the year, while noting that channelisation remains “significantly lower” for online casino than for betting.

In parallel, the Administrative Court has overturned an SGA enforcement decision against Roar Vegas Ltd (LeoVegas). On 12 June 2026, the court set aside the SGA’s warning and SEK 8 million sanction fee linked to alleged duty of care breaches, where the regulator had argued the operator intervened too late for customers showing indicators of excessive gambling.

The decision adds further judicial scrutiny to how duty of care expectations are applied in Sweden, even as the SGA continues to emphasise timely interventions when harm indicators are identified. For operators, the consultation and the court ruling together raise the stakes on process, documentation, and the evidentiary standards likely to be tested in future supervision and appeals.

SiGMA Foundation Continues its Longstanding Support for Dreams of Horses Farm in Gozo

SiGMA Foundation is continuing its longstanding support for Dreams of Horses Farm in Xagħra, Gozo, strengthening a partnership built around mental wellbeing, inclusion, rehabilitation and practical care.

The farm, a long-term beneficiary of the SiGMA Foundation, provides equine-assisted learning and animal-assisted therapy for children and adults who benefit from structured support in a calm rural setting. Its work reaches children with special needs, adults managing mental health challenges and people on rehabilitation pathways, including former inmates and individuals facing social vulnerability.

The Foundation’s support has focused on both immediate needs and the programme’s future sustainability. In 2024, the SiGMA Foundation donated EUR 50,000 towards the construction of a new block at the farm, dedicated to Equestrian Assisted Learning and Animal Assisted Therapy programmes. The continued relationship reflects an approach that looks beyond single interventions, supporting the facilities and operational foundations that keep the farm open, stable and useful to the community.

In addition to this contribution, SiGMA Foundation is donating this year a further EUR 30,000 to support the farm’s ongoing operations and help sustain its therapeutic and educational work. The continued relationship reflects an approach that looks beyond single interventions, supporting the facilities and operational foundations that allow the farm to remain open, stable and useful to the community.

Dreams of Horses Farm has become a safe and structured environment where people can work with animals, develop routine and build trust through direct care. For many participants, the farm offers a setting where progress is measured not by pressure but by small acts of connection, confidence and responsibility.

Equine-assisted learning is increasingly recognised as a meaningful form of non-clinical support. Horses respond to human behaviour without judgement. Their sensitivity can help participants notice their emotions and actions in the moment, while grooming, feeding, leading and caring for the animals can encourage patience, communication and self-regulation.

For people experiencing anxiety, developmental challenges, trauma or social reintegration, this interaction can support emotional awareness, confidence, self-esteem and the ability to relate to others. The rhythm of farm life can also provide structure and purpose, especially for those rebuilding a sense of routine.

The farm’s programmes are designed for a wide range of beneficiaries. Children with additional needs can engage with animals in ways that support communication and social development. Adults facing mental health challenges can access a setting that encourages calm, responsibility and physical presence. People moving through rehabilitation pathways are given space to reconnect with themselves and others through constructive, care-based activity.

The partnership reflects the SiGMA Foundation’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote inclusion, wellbeing and opportunities for personal development. Through its continued investment in Dreams of Horses Farm, the Foundation is helping to ensure that therapeutic and educational programmes remain accessible to those who benefit from them most.

Victor Muscat, owner of Dreams of Horses Farm, has also spoken about the importance of the relationship between people and animals, noting that such interactions provide knowledge, sensory experience and emotions that are not always transferred through conventional education.
