Hawks Talon Gaming Lose Two Games To Magic Gaming
BP Leads Team in Scoring for First Time This Season During Team’s Second Game
On Saturday evening, Hawks Talon GC, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks, lost two games to Magic Gaming, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, by scores of 55-79 and 64-87. Hawks Talon will enter their first bye week (Week 6) at a 5-11 record and continue the 2021 NBA 2K League regular season with competition on Wednesday, July 21.
“Tonight just wasn’t our night, and we couldn’t get our shots to fall,” said Hawks Talon Head Coach Wesley Acuff. “We will head into our bye week with a lot to think about and plenty of film to review. This is a long season, and we’ll have plenty of opportunities to take advantage of as we try to turn our season around and make a push for the playoffs.”
In the first game, Hawks Talon’s Caesar A. Martinez (CEEZ), the team’s 2021 first-round pick, scored a game-high 30 points, and Michael Diaz-Cruz (BP) added 14 points. CEEZ also dished out six assists. Lee Lamb (LEE) was just shy of a double-double performance after totaling nine points and a team-high 10 rebounds. He also added four assists to go along with a team-high three steals. Rounding out the group were rookies Michael Swanegan (SWANN) with two points, and Thomas Batts (FAKIEE) who gathered three rebounds.
In the second game, Hawks Talon’s BP led the team in scoring with 25 points. This marked the first time all season that BP led the team in points. CEEZ contributed 23 points and six assists, while LEE totaled seven points, nine rebounds and three assists. SWANN had a game-high four steals, while FAKIEE added six points.
Hawks Talon Gaming (5-11) will continue the regular season during Week 7 with two games against Knicks Gaming, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the New York Knicks, on Wednesday, July 21 at 7 p.m. They will wrap up the week with two games against T-Wolves Gaming, the official 2K League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves, on Thursday, July 22 at 7:15 p.m. These games will be simulcast live on the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels. Games will also be available on ESRevolution, Loco in India, Sport1 in Europe and Dash Radio.
