Grant has served as Chairman and CEO of Esports Entertainment Group since 2015, where he oversaw the Company from its’ inception as an esports wagering company long before most of the world knew of the existence of esports, to a successful NASDAQ IPO and $8.4M raise in April 2020.

His experience in online gambling came from 1996 to 1999 where has Vice President of Vancouver based Starnet Communications International, Inc. a recognized leader in the Internet gambling industry. As Vice President of Business Development, Mr. Johnson led Starnet’s sales team and was a driving force behind Starnet’s leading market position in the B2B sector of the Internet gambling industry.

Mr. Johnson was instrumental in the business development activities at Starnet and was directly involved in establishing many of Starnet’s strategic industry partnerships. A subsidiary of Starnet, World Gaming, still exists today.

In addition to his experience at Starnet, Johnson gained additional public company experience from 1999 to 2003 as CEO of Healthnet international which launched the ehealt stores product that had some major brands like GNC, Sears and Mother Nature and coined the phrase “click ,call or come in”. Also 2003 to 2007 when he was Co-Founder, President and Director of Swiss Medica Inc., a US publicly listed company. Swiss Medica was a natural products manufacturer and a leading Internet based nutraceutical sales and distribution company, which was successful in obtaining shelf-placement of their O24 topical pain product in over 17,000 retail locations and was awarded the best new product of the year by the northern California arthritis association in 2006.

Mr. Johnson is a business development and sales management professional with more than 30 years of industry and public company management experience.

Mr. Johnson obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and history from the University of Western Ontario in 1983.

From 2007 to late 2013 Mr. Johnson also advised several early and development stage companies as a Sales Management and Business Development Consultant. Mr. Johnson has advised companies in numerous industries including retail, direct marketing, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, and Internet based businesses.
