Casino Guru Introduces User Review Functionality

Casino Guru prides itself on being one of the biggest sources of information about online casinos for quite some time now, with their broad database of gambling sites and objective, data-focused expert reviews. However, with the recent addition of user reviews, they will be able to bring even more value to their visitors.
Casino Guru intruded new functionality, which allows visitors to review and rate any online casino. Users can share their experience, whether good or bad, with other members of the community, who can, in turn, use this information to make the right choice when selecting a site to play at.
Matej Novota, Casino Guruâs Data & Complaints Department Lead, considers user reviews a great addition to the siteâs features: âMy team and I collect as much relevant information as possible about each online casino we review, such as their complaints, revenues, features, customer support quality, etc. This helps us give casinos a fair rating and recommend the most suitable ones to players. Letting our visitors share their experience adds another layer of information that will be helpful for anyone trying to select a casino to play at.â
User reviews combine two of the main pillars of the Casino Guru website â casino reviews and community. Community is the fastest growing part of the website, with Casino Guru having reported over 34,000 registered users within the first year of the existence of their multilingual forum.
Matej adds that experience of actual users is hard to emulate in a traditional review process: âWe do our best to find out everything players should know about a casino, but there are thousands of casinos on the internet, and we simply cannot test each of them in a way that would emulate the experience of a diverse group of players. Thatâs why I think that user reviews will be beneficial not only to our visitors, but to our team as well.â
Users can give a casino a rating from zero to five stars, which contributes to its overall user rating. If they want, they can also add a written review and describe the casinoâs positive and negative qualities. If a user adds a written review, it is first reviewed by the Casino Guru team to make sure it meets the siteâs community guidelines, and only then made public. Ratings without a written review are published immediately.
To the teamâs surprise, most users add a written review to their ratings, as Matej describes: âThe number of new daily reviews is quite low, as itâs a new functionality and our visitors are not familiar with it yet. However, what surprised is that more than 80% of user ratings are accompanied by a written review of the casinoâs qualities. We expected most users to skip this option, as itâs far easier to just choose the number of stars and submit a rating. Perhaps users who leave ratings really want to share their experience in detail.â
In line with Casino Guruâs forum and other multilingual features, users can write their reviews in any language, and the siteâs automatic translation functionality will localize it for other visitors according to their language preferences.
User reviews are yet another addition in Casino Guruâs quest to provide as much value to visitors as possible and make online gambling better. Their other recent endeavors include Global Self-Exclusion Initiative and Casino Guru Academy, which are aimed at improving the online gambling ecosystem and reducing gambling-related harm. On top of this, the company continues working on other improvements and getting closer to being the best website about online casinos.

BetterGambling Exclusive Report: 800+ UK Casino Operators Face Closure as 2026 Regulations Trigger Industry Apocalypse

Reading Time: 2 minutes
Â
BetterGambling, the UKâs independent gambling industry think tank, released its comprehensive Market Intelligence Report, indicating over 800 casino operators will be forced out of the UK market by 2027, the largest industry slump in British gambling history.
The study, authored by BetterGamblingâs stable of former casino bosses and regulatory experts, projects a precipitous 30-40% drop in authorised operators as the 2026 regulatory landscape renders continued operation economically non-viable for the low-to-midsized players.
âWe are witnessing the greatest scale of change since the Gambling Act 2005. Our analysis proves that this is not just market consolidation â itâs a structural realignment of an industry that today supports 2,262 licensed operators as of March 2024,â said Diana Tunsu, Reviewer at BetterGambling.
Key findings from the BetterGambling report include:
⢠680-900 operators anticipated to exit the market by the end of 2027 (30-40% of the current market)
⢠New casino launches will drop by 60-70% relative to 2024 levels
⢠White-label operations will see a 45-55% closure rate as a result of shifts in platform economics
⢠Stand-alone casinos will see 40-50% market consolidation as a result of compliance barriers
⢠Total first-year compliance investment of £800,000-2.8 million per operator.
The Compliance Investment Reality
BetterGamblingâs in-depth analysis of operators reveals the true cash investment required for 2026 compliance. The regulatory fee alone will remove ÂŁ100 million from the industry annually, and technology infrastructure upgrades will cost individual operators between ÂŁ500,000 and ÂŁ2 million.
âThe economics are straightforward. Operators with GGY below ÂŁ3 million per year are faced with a stark choice: spend significantly on compliance or consider strategic options including withdrawing from the market,â explained Diana Tunsu.
For more detailed analysis of the impact on different forms of casinos, see our in-depth UK Casino Reviews section.
White-Label Market Transformation
White-label casino businesses are recognized as being severely tested in this report, with 45-55% predicted to merge or close down. Of the estimated 350-450 current white-label businesses, BetterGambling predicts 200-300 will survive past 2027.
âWhite-label operators have a complex equation,â said the BetterGambling research team.
âThey must navigate through the same compliance for independent operators when handling revenue-sharing arrangements with platform providers.â
