Continent 8 Technologies has strengthened its global sales team with the appointment of a highly experienced iGaming professional as Sales Account Director in Malta.

Melissa Lamb will be working from Continent 8’s offices in Ta’Xbiex as part of the worldwide sales team to expand the leading iGaming infrastructure provider’s customer base in Malta and beyond. Continent 8 is the only global data centre provider to offer fully redundant, dual data centres within Malta, connecting to over 60 locations across Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Melissa said: “It’s really exciting to be working with Continent 8, a visionary organisation that protects mission-critical data for some of the world’s biggest iGaming brands. Malta is an international hub of gaming excellence and the jurisdiction of choice for a number of our existing clients. I will be working closely with colleagues around the world, from Miami to Manila, to support our clients with solutions. Specifically, this includes our co-location and Cloud services, as well as our world-class cybersecurity products such as DDoS and WAF. We have a strong customer base in Malta which has seen the company recently invest significantly in the Malta network and I’m excited to build on the strength of the Continent 8 brand, to develop public and private collaborations and partnerships to target start-ups, SMEs and large players in a multitude of sectors. We have a great opportunity to generate new business in Malta by supporting companies on the Island that operate internationally.”

She moved to Malta in 2017 and worked for iGaming firm Betsson Group as Group VIP and Event Manager. Later, as the founder and partner of business consultancy Hill & Lamb, she worked on initiatives with many leading organisations on the Island, including the Malta Gaming Authority, Gaming Malta, plus several Government departments and regulatory authorities. In addition to a degree in political science, journalism and sociology, she has professional certifications in data protection, AML, and corporate information security.

David Black, Managing Director (EMEA), Continent 8 Technologies, said: “We were delighted and humbled by the exceptional candidates showing interest in Continent 8 for this role. In the end Melissa’s knowledge, not only of the local business community but also her extensive international experience, made her the ideal candidate. We are delighted she chose to work for Continent 8 and I have no doubt she will be a great asset to our growing business, and for Malta.”
