Gaming Arts Promotes Jean Venneman to COO and Mike Smykowski to Sales Director
Gaming Arts LLC, an end-to-end gaming technology provider of electronic gaming machines, bingo, keno, and interactive casino-wide promotional systems, has announced some key personnel changes.
Effective immediately, Jean Venneman, the Company’s current Chief Commercial Officer, has been promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer.
“Over the last three and a half years, Jean has played a critical role in the growth of the Company. This appointment reflects what has been a natural expansion of responsibility for her within our organization. I look forward to continuing to work with Jean alongside David Colvin, Gaming Arts owner and founder, as well as the rest of the executive team as we collectively work to help lead the Company to the next level,” Mike Dreitzer, CEO of Gaming Arts, said.
“I am appreciative of the continued faith that David and Mike have placed in me. The future of Gaming Arts has certainly never been brighter. We have come so far in such a short amount of time and still have great opportunity in front of us,” Venneman said.
In another key appointment, Mike Smykowski has been named Director of Sales. Mike comes to Gaming Arts after a decade-long successful tenure in Gaming sales at Ainsworth Game Technology.
“I have long admired Mike Smykowski as an award-winning gaming sales professional and strategic thinker. We are delighted to have him join us at this time. Mike’s a great fit for us. He will add tremendous leadership to our already solid sales team,” Dreitzer said.
“I am so happy and honored to be joining Gaming Arts at this pivotal time in their history. I look forward to working with the team to achieve our sales goals in an accelerated manner,” Smykowski said.
Smykowski’s appointment is effective October 11, 2021 and subject to any regulatory approvals that may be deemed necessary by applicable jurisdictions.

Playtech Announces Expansion of Solaya Group Partnership
Playtech has announced the expansion of its partnership with Solaya Group, becoming the exclusive Bingo provider for the operator’s UK-facing Zebra Bingo, Bingostars and Peachy Games brands.
The partnership, first established in 2024 through the delivery of Casino content, continues to grow. After the successful launch of Zebra Bingo onto Playtech’s iBingo platform last year, the recent migrations of Bingostars and Peachy Games further strengthen the collaboration.
This expansion reinforces Playtech’s leadership in the UK Bingo market, while providing Solaya Group with seamless access to Playtech’s network, including access to the largest B2B bingo liquidity pool and a wide range of popular networked rooms familiar to UK players. Both teams are working closely to tailor the product offering to Solaya Group’s extensive UK player base.
Campaign activities are already underway, leveraging the strength of Playtech’s network and content, with guidance from Playtech’s dedicated network management team to support Solaya Group’s continued growth.

Plaza Hotel & Casino sets $250,000 Super Bingo event for July 3-5
Downtown Las Vegas property says the July Super Bingo will be its largest prize purse to date, with sessions on July 4-5.
Plaza Hotel & Casino will stage a $250,000 “Super Bingo” event in Las Vegas July 3-5, positioning it as a special edition tied to the nation’s 250th anniversary. The operator said the prize pool is the largest in the series’ history.
“The Plaza will be celebrating its 55th anniversary and the 250th anniversary of our great country in July, so it is only fitting that we make our Super Bingo event that month our biggest and best ever,” said Jonathan Jossel, CEO of the Plaza Hotel & Casino. “Our Super Bingo events have always drawn a packed crowd to our convention space, and we anticipate the July event to sell out quickly.”
According to the Plaza, Super Bingo draws nearly 1,000 attendees, including visitors traveling from Hawaii and Canada. For the July edition, bingo-only registration is set at $250 per person for gameplay on Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5. The Plaza is also offering an optional five-night hotel package priced at $200 per person, with no resort fee, for check-in July 2 and check-out July 6.
The Plaza outlined the payout structure as 20 games paying $1,999 each day, plus a daily “super coverall” of $60,000, second place of $15,000, and third place of $10,020. The casino said prizes will be paid in cash and players must be present to win.
Outside of the special event, the Plaza said its bingo room runs six daily sessions at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. and is located two floors above the main casino.
