We are honored to announce that Daniel Wallach (Founder at Wallach Legal LLC) is going to be among the speakers that will share the insights at our first conference in the North American region!

Daniel Wallach is the founder of Wallach Legal LLC, a law firm devoted principally to the burgeoning field of sports wagering and gaming law in the United States. Known as “The Sports Betting Attorney,” Dan has counseled professional sports teams, sports betting operators, fantasy sports companies, sports data providers, integrity monitoring companies, casinos, racetracks, video game manufacturers, and start-up companies in navigating the complexities of U.S. gambling laws and regulations.

He also speaks regularly to lawmakers and policymakers seeking guidance on the policy aspects of sports betting legislation. He has testified before the California Legislature, the Kentucky Legislature, and the New York Senate as a subject matter expert on legal issues relating to sports betting. Dan was also a featured panelist at the 2018 Summer Meeting of the National Conference of State Legislators from the Gaming States, where he was part of a panel discussion on the nuances related to possible sports betting legislation emerging in the wake of the Murphy v. NCAA decision.

Dan is the co-founding director of the University of New Hampshire School of Law’s Sports Wagering and Integrity Program, the nation’s first law school certificate program dedicated to the regulatory and legal aspects of sports wagering. He is an adjunct professor of law at two ABA-accredited law schools: the University of New Hampshire School of Law and the University of Miami School of Law, where he designed the nation’s first law school course programs centered on sports betting law and regulation

Dan is a general member of the prestigious International Masters of Gaming Law (known as the IMGL), an invitation-only organization for attorneys who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated performance and publishing in gaming law, significant gaming clientele, and substantial participation in the gaming industry.

As one of the nation’s foremost legal authorities in the field of sports gambling, Dan has become the “go-to” attorney to discuss sports gambling in the national media. He has been cited over 1,000 times by media outlets, including the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Boston Globe, ESPN and Sports Illustrated. Dan has been interviewed over 300 times on radio and television, including by ESPN’s Outside The Lines, The Dan LeBatard Show, The Dan Patrick Show, and The Tony Bruno Show. He regularly appears on sports and news radio stations around the country to discuss the legalization of sports betting and the latest sports law controversies of the day.

Dan is a legal analyst and contributing writer for The Athletic, and serves on the editorial and advisory board of LawInSport. He is the host of Conduct Detrimental, a weekly sports law podcast that explores the latest sports-legal controversies with a hard-hitting look at on and off the field legal battles that are shaping professional and collegiate sports.

Dan is also a seasoned litigator and appellate attorney. He is Board Certified in Appellate Practice by The Florida Bar and is AV-Rated (the highest level attainable) by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a 1991 graduate of Hofstra University School of Law, where he graduated with distinction (top 2% of his graduating class) and was Notes and Comments Editor of the Hofstra Law Review.

Dan began his legal career as the judicial law clerk for the Honorable Jacob Mishler, the former chief judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Upon the conclusion of his one-year clerkship, Dan joined the New York office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where he was a member of the Business and Securities Litigation Department (which, at the time, was the nation’s largest law firm practice group devoted to the practice of federal securities litigation). Prior to forming his own law firm, Dan was a shareholder at Becker & Poliakoff, where he practiced for nearly 20 years, concentrating in business and appellate litigation and representing clients in the regulated gaming industry.

This month The Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise honoured 186 of its total 1200 team members for reaching significant employment milestones including 15, 10 and 5 years of service for the enterprise. The event at Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort in Flagstaff, Ariz. showcased the impact and journey of each hard-working team member, with a special highlight for 29 employees who have served for 15 years.

Bruce Smith Enterprise and The Cordish Companies have been selected by the City of Petersburg, Virginia to codevelop a $1.4 billion Live! Gaming & Entertainment District, anchored by Live! Casino & Hotel Virginia. The Petersburg City Council unanimously approved Bruce Smith Enterprise and The Cordish Companies as the City’s preferred development partner on the transformative mixed-use project. The proposed project will generate billions of dollars in economic benefits and spinoff development, create thousands of new jobs and benefits to the local community and become a major new tourist destination for the City and the Central Virginia region.

CT Interactive’s LATAM team, led by Diego Verano Ponce and Ana Ruth Farías, attended SIGMA Brazil from April 23 to 25, 2024. The company’s decision to participate in the event underscores its commitment to expanding its presence and strengthening relationships within the region. The presence of Diego Verano and Ana Ruth Farías at SIGMA Brazil provided an excellent opportunity for CT Interactive to engage with industry stakeholders, discuss emerging trends and explore potential partnerships in the LATAM market.

The Colorado Division of Gambling has launched a new illegal gambling awareness campaign. The “Play Legit. Gamble Only Where Legal.” campaign aims to educate the public about the risks associated with illegal gambling and the importance of supporting regulated gaming venues. The campaign emphasises legal gambling options, including casinos in Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek, as well as online sports betting and off-track betting.

Lottery.com Inc. announced the restart of its sweepstakes operations in conjunction with the WinTogether Trust, a registered 501(c)3 charitable organisation. The proceeds from the sweepstakes will benefit Street Child United. The sweepstakes had a soft launch on April 3, 2024, and is available at http://donateto.win, the successor to Lottery.com’s WinTogether.org platform.

Partnerships

Hard Rock International, Seminole Gaming and Royal Caribbean Group brands, Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises, unveiled a global partnership that will benefit both vacationers and team members of the brands. Travellers around the world can take advantage of accommodations, meals, discounts and more at Hard Rock and Seminole casinos, hotels and cafes, and on Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises vacations based on the milestone announcement made by two of South Florida’s largest private employers.

SCCG Management has signed a contract with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), the B.C. Crown corporation which conducts and manages commercial gambling in the province, including lotteries, casinos and online gaming. This partnership aims to undertake a comprehensive assessment and strategic enhancement of BCLC’s diverse operations. The work between SCCG and BCLC will involve a thorough review of technological infrastructures, strategic market positioning and the integration of various gaming modalities.

Collegiate Sports Management Group (CSMG) announced today during the kick-off of its Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup (CECC) Texas presented by McDonald’s that it has joined forces with Capcom to launch the College Street FighterTM Tour during its 2024-25 academic year with the finalists competing at CECC Texas in 2025 throughout its May Madness event. Street FighterTM 6 will join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Overwatch 2®, Rocket League, and VALORANT as part of the official game titles for CECC.

“We are immensely excited to welcome Capcom into the CECC family and provide a path to glory for student athletes to showcase their skills in Street Fighter 6,” said Michael Schreck, Chief Executive Officer for CSMG. “In our fourth year of building May Madness, we continue to listen to our players, coaches and fans on how to make our event more inclusive, and the partnership with Street Fighter 6 is a resounding success.”

“The Street Fighter franchise is a multi-generational and global game series, so it’s important for us to continue to grow that fandom at the collegiate level,” said Michael Larson, Head of Esports at Capcom USA. “CECC continues to set the standard for competition and community, so it’s a natural format for expansion, and we’re eager for College Street Fighter Tour competitors across North America to show off their skills and join us in Texas next year.”

”The vision for the College Street Fighter Tour is a publisher backed esports series that integrates into the existing infrastructure of The Collegiate Esports Commissioners Cup, a bracket style event series that takes place every year and has been coined May Madness. The path to championship includes invitational bids to national and regional level conferences as well as official CECC qualifiers held regionally,” said Angela Bernhard Thomas, Chief Esports Officer for CSMG’s ESPORTSU.

Every college or university from a 2-year or 4-year institution can participate through their conference or through select qualifiers. Wim Stocks will serve as the Commissioner of the College Street Fighter Tour and bring his 20 years of experience in college esports to create a dynamic and engaging format of competitive gaming.

“Since the launch of Street Fighter 6 in June of ’23, it is clear the rich legacy of Street Fighter is stronger than ever and helping lift the fighting game community to still greater heights,” said Stocks. “Having a structure now for a national collegiate competitive series, league, and events, Capcom and ESPORTSU are building a phenomenal ecosystem and mechanism for developing up and coming Street Fighter 6 competitors.”

More details on the College Street Fighter Tour will be shared later this year.

CSMG welcomes 84 teams (up from 64 in 2023) this weekend from a record breaking 19 conference champions to the largest scholastic esports festival globally. They will compete at Esports Stadium Arlington on May 3-5 for the chance to hoist one of the coveted trophies. Fans can watch the CECC Texas on ESPORTSU’s Twitch channel at https://www.twitch.tv/esportsu.

CECC Texas 2023 was also recently awarded LAN Event of the Year during the inaugural Scholars Awards in Las Vegas, which are produced in partnership with the Esports Awards.

Home to downtown Las Vegas’ only bingo room, the Plaza Hotel & Casino is offering Clark County, Nevada residents who register to play in next week’s Super Bingo tournament the opportunity to bring a friend for free.

Happening Monday, May 6 through Wednesday, May 8 in the Plaza’s expansive ballroom, Super Bingo is expected to draw nearly 1,000 people from the local Las Vegas valley and across the country and Canada for the opportunity to win big playing fun-filled games of bingo over two days, with a $50,000 super coverall both days while socializing with like-minded bingo players.

Bingo-only registration is $160 per person, and Clark County residents who register can bring a friend for free. Registration is available online at https://www.plazahotelcasino.com/bingo/super-bingo-registration/. Hotel-and-bingo packages start at $300 for a four-night stay with no resort fee.
