Digitain Prepares for a Winter Olympics Betting Bonanza
The Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games take place from the 4th to the 20th of February and Digitain is expecting to process record numbers of bets on this exciting event, across their partner network of over 150 operators.
The previous Winter Olympic Games, in South Korea in 2018, generated a record number of bets for this event, taken via the Digitain platform, and their trading team expect this year’s Games to easily surpass those numbers, for both bets struck and total stakes accepted.
In 2018, the three most popular Olympic Sports for betting across the Digitain network contained a surprise. Who knew that Curling was so popular for betting?
Digitain’s Top 3 Olympics Sports for Betting in 2018
1st Place – Ice Hockey
2nd Place – Biathlon
3rd Place – Curling
Digitain’s Top Olympic Event for Betting in 2018 was the Men’s Ice Hockey Final between Olympic Athletes from Russia and Germany (won by Olympic Athletes from Russia).
“We’re looking forward to this year’s Winter Olympics which promises to be the busiest yet for betting. We’re anticipating record numbers of our customers playing across our network of partners, and we have an excellent and extended range of betting options for them to choose from. In fact, we have also added 8 new winter sports to our betting roster, namely the Bobsleigh, Nordic Combined, the Luge, the Skeleton, Snowboarding, Speed Skating, Short Track speed skating, and Freestyle Skiing, in order to generate more interest. This means, for the first time, and probably unique to our industry, that we will be providing odds on every single Winter Olympic sport,” Zohrab Karapetyan, Sportsbook Product Manager at Digitain, said.
