Lotteri-og stiftelsestilsynet (Lottstift), the Norwegian gaming authority, is going to provide sanction for bingo halls to operate online-only, as part of measures to mitigate the impact of coronavirus.

All cultural, sporting and voluntary activities in Norway, including bingo halls, have been shut down in the country for slowing down the virus spread.

Bingo operators will now offer games entirely online. But the timings will not change: games may still only be offered from 10 AM to 10 PM. New players no longer need to register for accounts in person and can now do this online.

The rules will be in place until 29 March, but the Lottstift will continue to review the situation and may keep them in place longer.

Moreover, the Norwegian government has established a relief scheme to help businesses, teams, associations and individuals running cultural, sporting or voluntary events mitigate the impact of the shut-down.
