Lightning Box electrifies the fruit slot with Lightning Blaze
The Lightning Respin feature returns in this fiery reimagining of the land-based favourite
Light & Wonder, Inc. Specialist slot provider Lightning Box has revamped the much-loved fruit slot with its a-peel-ing new title Lightning Blaze.
Players will be pulling the lever each spin in this 40 payline title inspired by iconic land-based slots. The game’s symbols are made up of bells, cherries and grapes, among other fruit machine archetypes, including sevens.
These sevens are Lightning Blaze’s wild and substitute all other symbols in-game except the scatter. These can land with both a double seven which denotes a 2x multiplier and a triple seven which denotes a 3x multiplier, increasing the overall winning potential in the base game.
Six or more scatter lightning bolt symbols are required to unlock entry into the Lightning Respins. These each have an instant cash prize attached to them which is awarded during the lightning respin round. Here active reels are created and landing additional lightning bolt symbols within these reels resets the three respins initially given.
These lightning bolt symbols come in many different varieties, colossal symbols are 2×2 or 3×3 in size and can split into multiple prizes when landed within an active reel. Jackpot symbols can award Mini, Minor, Major or Grand jackpot prizes along with standard lightning bolts also being present. These varying lightning bolts are key to awarding players Lightning Blaze’s max win of 9,750x.
Releasing exclusively via Paddy Power Betfair and Pokerstars for two weeks from Aug 17th before its general release. Lightning Blaze is available to customers of Light & Wonder’s industry-leading OpenGaming™ platform, alongside popular new titles such as Divine Star and Chicken Fox Jr.
Michael Maokhamphiou, Operations Manager at Lightning Box said: “Lightning Respin has become a fan-favourite mechanic with the feature now available in some of our most popular titles, including Lightning Gorilla, Lightning Shenlong and now Lightning Blaze.
“This game is inspired by iGaming’s land-based heritage yet fires up the classic fruit machine with new features and innovation, whilst providing players with familiar symbols within a timeless theme.”
Rob Procter, VP Game Development at Light & Wonder said: “Lightning Blaze will expand Lightning Box’s varied and high-quality portfolio of games. The title incorporates both classic gameplay and modern features which will have universal appeal to players. We are excited to add Lightning Blaze to our OpenGaming™ platform.”

What Does a Win Feel Like? WinSpirit Is Trying to Find Out
As competition among online casino operators increasingly centers on bonus size and game catalogs, WinSpirit is testing a different kind of engagement. The company has launched Euphoria Lab, a project built around an unusual premise for the industry: asking players not about payouts, but about feelings.
Players are invited to share the emotions, memories, and scents they connect with winning. Some describe it as the smell of rain before a summer storm, others mention morning coffee, sea breeze, or the charge in the air right before a result is announced.
The initiative sits within WinSpirit’s summer campaign, but its ambition reaches beyond typical promotions or gameplay mechanics. Euphoria Lab turns attention to the emotional side of play — the moments that stay with players long after a session ends.
Every response collected becomes part of a larger creative project WinSpirit intends to unveil later this year. The company has kept the details under wraps, saying only that the concept moves in a direction rarely seen in the online casino space.
Rather than the usual focus on numbers, odds, or promotions, Euphoria Lab asks a simpler question: not what a win pays out, but what it feels like.
The project is live now, with players across several markets already contributing their answers — a growing, community-shaped experiment with no fixed endpoint yet.
