The legendary Wing Bowl is landing for the first-time in Las Vegas at the Plaza Hotel & Casino on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m.

The wild, over-the-top chicken wing eating competition was founded in Philadelphia in 1993 and has never been held in any other city until now.

With a $5,000 cash prize at stake, 20 competitors will battle it out in three rounds of intense wing-eating action. The competition will feature both amateur and competitive eaters. Notable participants include:

  • Molly Schuyer (@mollyschuyler-Mom-vs-Food), defending Wing Bowl champion (2018) who holds the Wing Bowl record of 501 wings
  • Bob Shoudt (@Notorious_BOB), 2017 Wing Bowl champion who holds the record for eating 23.4 pounds (2.4 gallons) of salmon chowder in six minutes
  • Jesse Pynnonen (@jpynnone), a competitive eater from Finland and 2025’s runner up in Finland’s Strongest Man competition

Local television personality, Mike Davis of Fox 5 (@michaelmikedavis) will be joined by the top ranked British competitive eater Adam Moran (@BeardMeatsFood) as event emcees calling all the action and providing event commentary. Powerslap Light Heavyweight contender and former Highland Games competitor, Vernon Cathy will serve as the event’s special guest judge.

In addition to the fast-eating excitement of the competition, there will be a special live performance by the band Trapt (@Traptband), known for their hit song Head Strong. The event will also feature a cash bar and a special limited edition Wing Bowl beer from local brewing company, Beer Zombies.

The Wing Bowl at the Plaza will also include the event’s famous cheerleaders, the Wingettes, from Peppermint Hippo, which will also be the event’s official after party location.

Wing Bowl will host a live audience of hundreds of attendees in the Plaza’s showroom. Event tickets are free but must be reserved online at https://www.plazahotelcasino.com/entertainment/wing-bowl/. VIP tables for parties of four will also be available for purchase online for $300 (plus taxes/fees) per table offering premium seating and unlimited beer from Beer Zombie. Wing Bowl will also be live streamed on the Plaza’s YouTube channel and those of the contestants.

“Born and raised in Philadelphia, I grew up on the chaos and adrenaline of Wing Bowl, and I truly miss it,” said Gary Vickery, vice president of operations at the Plaza Hotel & Casino. “That kind of raw excitement is rare. However, if there’s one city that can capture the same energy and spectacle, it’s Las Vegas, and I am excited to bring it to the Plaza.”

The Plaza is working with numerous sponsors to host the event, including Peppermint Hippo (Official Gentleman’s Club and afterparty of Wing Bowl), William Hill (Official Sportsbook of Wing Bowl), Beer Zombie (Official Beer of Wing Bowl) and Lucky Box Vending (Mystery sports & Pokémon vending machines located throughout Las Vegas).
