Leading sportsbook provider strengthens global security framework

Altenar, a leading sports betting and iGaming software provider, has successfully achieved full recertification under the updated ISO 27001:2022 standard, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to information security and compliance.

The internationally recognised certification validates Altenar’s robust Information Security Management System (ISMS) and reflects the company’s dedication to safeguarding client and stakeholder data in an evolving digital threat landscape.

This milestone further complements Altenar’s portfolio of gaming licences and regulatory certifications, ensuring full alignment with the technical standards of the jurisdictions in which it operates.

The 2022 revision of the ISO 27001 standard introduces new and enhanced controls covering areas such as threat intelligence, data masking, data leakage prevention, and web filtering, designed to help organisations better anticipate and mitigate modern cyber risks.

Altenar’s recertification not only confirms its adherence to global best practices but marks a significant expansion of scope. This now includes new operational regions in South America and South Africa, along with the addition of its recently established entity, Agreegain Limited.

Denise Vella, Director of Information Security at Altenar, said: “We are incredibly proud to have achieved and maintained this recertification, now for four years running. Security is built into everything we do, thanks to the ongoing efforts of our dedicated and continuously growing security team.

“Our users are also highly aware of security, and we’ve fostered a strong security culture across the company. At Altenar, protecting our customer’s data is part of our daily work and this certification reinforces our commitment to security, compliance, and trust.”
