IGT Expands VLT Footprint in Western Canada with 720 New Units

International Game Technology PLC, announced that it has signed a contract with the Western Canada Lottery Corporation (“WCLC”) to provide 720 CrystalDual^® 27 video lottery terminals (VLTs). This marks the fourth time in seven years that IGT has been awarded a significant VLT contract by WCLC following competitive procurements.

As part of the agreement, IGT will provide its highly successful CX game set of VLT content in Saskatchewan, featuring top-performing games such as 7’s Wild Gold, Big City 5’s, and Thunder Stampede Temple of Fire.

The CrystalDual 27 VLT features two displays delivering high-definition graphics. The cabinet has a first-class audio package, ergonomic design, enhanced player interface and a mobile device charging port to provide exceptional player experiences.

In addition, the cabinets incorporate the Game to System (G2S) communication protocol, which enables new, advanced features for WCLC such as software download, remote configuration and software verification, and an embedded player user interface that delivers an interactive experience. These new VLTs will be connected by IGT’s INTELLIGEN central system, operated by WCLC for machine accounting, event tracking, and system security.

St8 has extended its partnership with slot supplier Wazdan into Ontario, adding the supplier’s content to St8’s aggregation platform for operators in the Canadian province.

Under the agreement, St8 has integrated a selection of Wazdan slot titles for Ontario operators, including Mighty Fish: Blue Marlin, 36 Coins, Mighty Wild: Panther Grand Diamond Edition and Mighty Wild: Gorilla. The roll-out also includes Wazdan mechanics such as Cash to Infinity, Sticky to Infinity and Hold the Jackpot.

EveryMatrix has received conditional licensing approval from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) to offer its iGaming technology in Alberta.

The approval allows the supplier to provide casino and sports platform technologies to licensed operators in the province, which is expected to launch a regulated iGaming market in July. Alberta would become Canada’s second regulated iGaming territory after Ontario.

At launch, EveryMatrix said it will offer titles from its in-house studio Fantasma Games and aggregated content, with plans to expand its portfolio over time.

The company said the Alberta approval adds to its North American licensing footprint, which includes Ontario (since 2022) and US states New Jersey, Michigan, West Virginia, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. EveryMatrix also said it has signed agreements to deliver platform and in-house gaming content in Alberta.
