Smarkets, one of the world’s leading platforms for betting and trading on politics, has announced the launch of a new weekly podcast focused on political betting.

The Smarkets Politics Podcast will delve into the latest political developments through a betting-market lens, with analysis from the Smarkets Politics team – Matthew Shaddick and Patrick Flynn – hosted by Dan Levy. New episodes will be released on Thursdays – find the first one here or search for the show wherever you listen to your podcasts.

The podcast will also feature special guests in the coming months, with key topics to be discussed including the new UK Prime Minister, the US midterm elections, and much more.

Shaddick, Smarkets Head of Politics, who is regularly interviewed on the latest betting-market trends in broadcast and print media, said: “It’s brilliant to be expanding our political content offering with the new Smarkets Politics Podcast. One thing you can say about politics in the last few years it’s that there’s been plenty to talk about, so we’re excited to have a place to discuss the latest news from a betting-market point of view.

“There are plenty of big events on the horizon and some of the guests we have lined up to join us are really exciting.”

The Smarkets Politics Podcast will complement other content produced by Shaddick and Flynn, including their regular articles for Smarkets News (news.smarkets.com) and the data shared via the @SmarketsPol Twitter account, as well as the weekly Smarkets Politics email newsletter, which goes out every Wednesday.

The Smarkets Politics Podcast is the first podcast produced by the company under its betting-exchange brand. Smarkets’ sportsbook app SBK already has a trio of podcasts – two focused on horse racing (The SBK Betting Podcast and SBK Saturday Night Selections) as well as a brand-new NFL podcast with Nat Coombs called SBK Edge Rush Extra. All three feature SBK Tipster Tom Collins, formerly of the Racing Post.

All Smarkets and SBK podcasts can be found on Spotify, Apple, Amazon Music, and Soundcloud. You can also watch them on the Smarkets and SBK YouTube channels. You can sign up for the Smarkets Politics newsletter by tweeting the team @SmarketsPol.
