Gambling and alcohol law specialists Poppleston Allen promote Richard Bradley to partner
Leading gambling and alcohol licensing law firm Poppleston Allen has promoted gambling industry compliance and regulatory specialist Richard Bradley to partner.
Richard, working alongside department head Nick Arron, has led Poppleston Allen’s work with operators, both land-based and remote, on regulatory and compliance matters. These have come into sharp focus ahead of the long-awaited publication of the Government’s white paper on gambling.
Richard specialises in gambling licence applications, expansion projects, acquisition deals and other compliance-based legal activity for Poppleston Allen’s clients, which include Merkur Slots UK Limited, The Veterans’ Lottery and Cowells – Arrow Bingo Company, to name a few.
Richard has also led industry commentary around a number of trending and topical compliance-related stories, including how working from home affects the rules governing workplace sweepstakes.
Lisa Sharkey, Managing Partner at Poppleston Allen, commented: “I am delighted to announce Richard’s appointment to Partner. Richard is widely known for his extensive experience in this complex and heavily regulated area. He is a hugely trusted advisor to the firm’s gambling clients and all the Partners are very proud of Richard’s achievements.”
Richard Bradley commented: “The gambling sector has always shown a resilient and entrepreneurial spirit with many novel concepts being introduced by both existing operators and new entrants to the market. We also continue to see vibrancy in the market with increasing levels of investment, acquisition and expansion.
“The gambling regime is already complex and we expect to see further regulatory changes, which will no doubt keep us and our clients busy.
“I am proud to be part of a firm which seeks to provide effective and practical solutions helping operators to understand and navigate the regulatory landscape.”
With offices in Nottingham and London, Poppleston Allen is the largest firm of licensing solicitors in the UK, focusing on licensing, gambling, regulatory work and training for operators.
The team currently comprises 21 lawyers and paralegals, with the gambling team working with clients such as Buzz Bingo, Blueprint Gaming, Bandai Namco and Gauselmann Group, one of Europe’s largest gambling businesses.
