1983 WSOP Main Event Winner to Appear at Casino Collectibles Show
Poker Hall of Famer and author Tom McEvoy will greet attendees at world’s largest casino memorabilia show June 16 – 17 in Las Vegas
Poker enthusiasts know winning the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event poker tournament is a pinnacle achievement shared by few players. Tom McEvoy is one of few, and he’s all-in at the Casino Collectibles Association’s 29th annual show. He will greet those attending the show from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, June 16 and 17, 2022, at the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Tom McEvoy won the 1983 World Series of Poker Main Event after a 7 ½ hour grueling heads-up matchup. His four WSOP bracelet wins paved his way into the
Poker Hall of Fame in 2013. A true poker pioneer, it was McEvoy who inaugurated the first WSOP non-smoking tournament in 2002. He has authored or co-authored 14 books on poker and was a columnist for CardPlayer Magazine for 8 years. McEvoy caught the poker bug at the age of five, learning the game playing penny-ante with his grandmother. He will share this and other stories of his fascinating career with all who visit him at the Casino Collectibles Show.
McEvoy will be on hand to meet, greet, sign autographs and take selfies with registered show visitors to the largest collections of casino memorabilia ever assembled in one place. In fact, the Casino Chips and Collectibles Show is home to the world’s largest casino chip and token collection, as recognized by Guinness World Records. The show’s featured poker pro has collected big stacks of gaming chips over the years, and looks forward to joining the fun of examining, buying, selling, trading and even informally evaluating casino collectibles and mementos. Registration and admission are open to the public June 16, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (admission $10), June 17, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (admission $5) and June 18, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (admission is free).
