Virginia Lottery and IWG First to Launch Linked Progressive Jackpot e-Instants
Instant Win Gaming (IWG), the leading supplier of digital e-Instants to NASPL/WLA-member lotteries, congratulates the Virginia Lottery for becoming the first US lottery to launch separate e-Instant games that share the same linked progressive jackpot prizes.
Sales from separate e-Instant games simultaneously contribute to a set of shared linked progressive jackpot prizes. The linked jackpots, branded Big Money Jackpots, incorporate three in-game, instant-win jackpot prizes: a mini jackpot expected to be awarded multiple times each day, a mid-tier jackpot expected to be awarded twice per week, and a top-prize jackpot expected to be awarded twice per month. Actual frequency will depend on the volume of play.
Initially, two e-Instant titles, Cash Buster Multiplier and Prospector’s Gold, combine to offer Virginia Lottery players the chance to scoop the rolling jackpot prizes. These games incorporate the same bonus mechanic when awarding the chance to win the progressive jackpots. This creates a consistent look and feel to the linked jackpots feature across multiple e-Instants, independent of each individual game’s theme and play style.
IWG’s linked InstantJackpots module can be applied to any IWG game, and the company has plans to add more titles into the jackpot component over the coming months.
As with its InstantJackpots technology, the linked functionality is completely contained within IWG’s InstantRGS
Rhydian Fisher, CEO at IWG, said: “Big credit to the fantastic team at the Virginia Lottery, who have become history makers once again, this time by being the first to offer linked progressive e-Instants. It is only fitting that Virginia would be the first to launch linked jackpots as they were also first to debut our InstantJackpots module just seven months ago with our standalone game Jungle Tumble Jackpots. We are so proud of our partnership with the Virginia Lottery and look forward to helping them grow their iLottery portfolio for years to come with innovative and exciting products.”
Rob Wesley, Director of Digital at Virginia Lottery, said: “We are excited to unveil our new linked progressive jackpot e-Instants offering, which adds to our growing progressive jackpot e-Instant portfolio. Our first two stand-alone progressive jackpot e-Instant games have consistently been in our top performing games ranking. The collaboration, technology and service that IWG provides has allowed us to seamlessly plan, test, launch and grow this new category of games. We have high hopes for this launch, and as always, we look forward to partnering with IWG on all of its upcoming innovations.”
