Deal with ElTurf.com sees cutting edge horse racing technology deployed across the continent

The world’s largest source of live racing data, Total Performance Data (TPD), has struck an exciting deal with Latin America’s chief distributor of media information for horse racing, ElTurf.com.

The new agreement sees TPD mirror its successful North American rollout strategy with Equibase by teaming up with ElTurf as its partners in an effort to capture equine performances around the clock and across the globe. The first Chilean racetrack has signed up and the installation process is under way.

Racecourses, like all sporting venues, have faced great financial challenges during the pandemic, so the chance to offer live race graphics, timing, stride patterns and new betting opportunities in a cost effective package is likely to prove popular as sport returns to normal.

The latest deal in Latin America extends TPD’s global footprint and means it now operates in three continents following on from Europe and North America. The data specialists currently operate at 24 UK tracks, including Ascot, Doncaster and Chester, while also having a strong presence in North America, with Del Mar, Tampa Bay and Woodbine among the 16 racetracks to deploy its solutions.

Since its inception, TPD has tracked the runs of over 300,000 horses in over 30,000 races in the UK, USA and Canada and its highly accurate data has become essential for racecourses, owners and trainers, as well as in-play betting companies and professional gamblers around the world.

Will Duff Gordon, CEO of Total Performance Data, said: “We are delighted to be working with Gonzalo Reyes and the ElTurf team to set up as many tracks as possible in Latin America. Sport and betting are increasingly global and we look to offer the same information on a horse racing in Chester or Chile.”

Gonzalo Reyes, Director at ElTurf.com, said: “We are very pleased to start working with TPD in Latin America as it means advancing in the areas that we like the most, technology and data. It will provide great benefits to the Latin American fans who will have new information for their betting decisions and improved graphics on the streaming service.

“The technology will significantly raise the standard of information to boost the export of races to more demanding and significantly larger markets. All this will be deployed during our first installation to then expand to the other racetracks in the region, with the informational available on our ElTurf.com platform.”
