Successful Launch With AGLC Marks NPi’s Entry to Canadian Gaming Market
NeoPollard Interactive LLC is proud to announce its successful launch into the Canadian market through its new agreement with the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (“AGLC”). Contracted as the operator of AGLC’s program, PlayAlberta.ca, NPi deployed its cutting-edge technology, a full suite of managed services, and its top performing game content on September 30, 2020.
This complex deployment marks the beginning of Alberta’s only regulated online gambling website. NPi’s advanced NeoSphere platform fulfilled AGLC’s vision to bring a world class online gambling entertainment solution to Alberta, while ensuring flexibility for the further evolution of AGLC’s program.
“PlayAlberta.ca is another way AGLC is implementing its promise to generate revenues for the benefit of Albertans,” said Alain Maisonneuve, President and CEO of AGLC. “AGLC is excited to work with NPi and apply their vast experience as we provide a regulated online gambling website that will offer players expanded entertainment options with integrated responsible gambling features and generate revenue to support valuable programs and services Albertans rely on every day.”
NPi has also implemented a full suite of managed services for AGLC ranging from revenue-generating activities to enhancing the player experience. NPi is focused on a strong customer experience, which includes Customer Engagement Marketing and NPi’s Customer Support Centre, which provides real-time player support through phone, chat, and email. Additionally, NPi’s Compliance service enhanced its monitoring, reporting and data collection policies to comply with the rigorous reporting requirements published by Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC).
PlayAlberta.ca offers players a range of digital content including casino style games, plus NPi’s industry-leading eInstant games. Future offerings include lottery, a full sportsbook, poker, bingo and live table games — ensuring that PlayAlberta.ca will maintain a competitive edge throughout its evolution. The website also incorporates AGLC’s GameSense responsible gambling program, which offers players tools and resources to make healthy and informed gambling choices.
“NPi is delighted to celebrate the launch of this exciting offering alongside our partners at AGLC,” said Liz Siver, General Manager, NeoPollard Interactive. “NPi’s growth into the broader North American market exhibits how committed we are to providing the best and most profitable iLottery solutions. We look forward to continuing to evolve PlayAlberta.ca in support of returning revenue to the citizens of Alberta.”

Internet Vikings Expands Canadian Footprint into Alberta
Internet Vikings, a licensed hosting provider for the North American iGaming and online sports betting industry, has announced that its hosting solutions are ready to launch in Alberta, Canada. Internet Vikings’ infrastructure and operational processes already align with the province’s expected requirements, meaning the company can help operators enter the Alberta market faster and with greater confidence.
The expansion comes following the release of updated hosting, infrastructure, and security requirements by the AGLC. As Alberta prepares to open its market, operators and suppliers are facing strict requirements around cybersecurity and disaster recovery.
Internet Vikings’ experience supporting regulated operators across North America positions the company to help businesses comply with these operational and regulatory requirements efficiently from day one.
Requirements include adherence to internationally recognized security standards such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001. In addition, operators are expected to maintain disaster recovery environments, encrypted immutable backups, and perform routine recovery testing to ensure business continuity.
“We are ready to provide the infrastructure and local expertise operators need to launch and scale successfully. We are already working with operators preparing for launch and understand the urgency involved in getting compliant infrastructure deployed quickly,” said Rickard Vikström, CEO and Founder of Internet Vikings.
Internet Vikings first established operations in Ontario in 2022 and is now expanding its Canadian footprint into Alberta with hosting solutions, including VMware cloud hosting, bare metal servers, bare metal GPU servers, disaster recovery, and backup solutions.

Gaming Corps Secures Alberta iGaming Licence Ahead of Market Launch
Gaming Corps has secured a conditional iGaming supplier licence from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC), positioning the studio for launch in Alberta’s regulated market from day one.

With approval now secured, Gaming Corps continues to accelerate its North American expansion strategy while strengthening its position in regulated markets.
The move gives operators in Alberta access to Gaming Corps’ portfolio of casino games and proprietary game mechanics as the province prepares to open its regulated iGaming framework.

Canada continues to represent a key growth region for us, and we’re excited to bring our expanding portfolio of games and unique mechanics to operators and players in Alberta.”
Alberta is set to become Canada’s second regulated open iGaming market, following Ontario, with the AGLC overseeing licensing and compliance requirements for operators and suppliers.
