Aristocrat Technologies, Inc., Boyd Gaming Announce Launch of Cashless Wagering Digital Wallet
Aristocrat Technologies, Inc. announced today it has partnered with leading casino operator Boyd Gaming Corporation to launch Aristocrat’s cashless wagering digital wallet technology at Boyd Gaming’s Blue Chip Casino Resort Spa in Michigan City, Indiana.
This new innovation is the cornerstone of a new “Resort Wallet” feature in which patrons can place cash on account at the cashier cage, then use their player loyalty card to instantly access those funds on the casino floor. The digital wallet eliminates the need to handle cash at slot machines or redeem tickets, creating a frictionless experience for the customer.
The Blue Chip launch will initially provide access to the wallet for slot machine players, allowing them to use their B Connected player loyalty card to place wagers and cash out credits. In future stages, access to the digital wallet will be expanded to table games, restaurants, and other amenities at Blue Chip.
Based on the success of the Blue Chip launch, and pending regulatory approvals, Aristocrat and Boyd Gaming intend to expand digital wallet technology to additional Boyd Gaming properties across the country. The two companies also plan to integrate the digital wallet into Boyd Gaming’s B Connected Mobile app, creating a truly digital, touchless experience for Boyd Gaming customers.
“Building on our strategic partnership with Aristocrat, Boyd Gaming continues to add best-in-class mobile cashless wagering and contactless solutions that will greatly enhance the patron experience at our properties,” said Blake Rampmaier, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Boyd Gaming. “As previously announced, we will continue to leverage our partnership with Aristocrat to drive mobile innovation in a secure and exciting environment for our patrons.”
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, many regulators have asked manufacturers to accelerate their cashless strategies. Aristocrat believes the time is now for cashless gaming and has invested heavily in expanding digital and mobile strategies that will assist in transforming the casino floor to be a more robust patron experience while supporting responsible gaming initiatives.
“We are thrilled to partner with Boyd to bring this new and exciting solution to their patrons,” said Cath Burns, Executive Vice President of Customer Experience Solutions for Aristocrat. “We are passionate about the patron engagement and that Boyd continues to roll out Aristocrat’s suite of innovative CX mobile solutions to aid in the transformation of the patron and industry experience.”
Aristocrat’s Oasis CX 360TM solution, now installed at Boyd Gaming properties nationwide, is one of the most widely used casino management systems. Oasis combines an award-winning portfolio of casino management technology comprised of slot management, bonusing, digital, table management, single-card loyalty solutions, kiosks, mobile and a media management hub.

Context Networks Enters into API Agreement with Aristocrat Technologies
Context Networks Inc., a programmatic advertising platform that leverages private blockchain technology to deliver advertising solutions for the gaming industry, has entered into an API Agreement with Aristocrat Technologies, a global leader in gaming technology, as part of Aristocrat’s Developer Partnership Program. This agreement will allow Context Networks to integrate its Contextual Promotions Media Network (CPMN) with Aristocrat’s future casino management system, Oasis 360 v15.3. The integration will enable operators to deliver personalized promotions across multiple platforms, including Aristocrat’s OneLink digital signage, LED table signs, and nCompass media displays.
As a Developer Partner, Context Networks will work with Aristocrat to ensure the CPMN is fully tested and compatible with Aristocrat’s systems. This testing process provides gaming operators the assurance that Context’s solution has been evaluated on Aristocrat’s platform, meeting the high standards required in the industry. The API integration will enable the development of apps that allow players to interact with gamified offers, redeem digital coupons, and share promotions via social media or messaging apps, elevating the joy and power of play to a new level.
“This API Agreement is an important first step toward a deeper relationship with Aristocrat. By becoming part of Aristocrat’s Developer Partnership Program, we ensure that our CPMN solution is ‘Context Ready’ for Oasis 360 v15.3 and beyond. This partnership will help gaming operators enhance player engagement and introduce new revenue opportunities, with the assurance that our solution has been tested and approved by a leading gaming technology provider,” said Matthew Olden, CEO of Context Networks.
The API Agreement focuses on Aristocrat’s upcoming Oasis 360 v15.3, currently under development. By leveraging Aristocrat’s future API capabilities, Context Networks’ CPMN will offer gaming operators a turnkey, cloud-hosted advertising solution that allows for dynamic, context-based promotions without additional hardware or software investments. This integration gives gaming operators an innovative tool to engage players and drive non-gaming revenue streams.
For players, the partnership brings the potential for a new layer of interaction and engagement. Gamified offers, delivered in real-time through the CPMN, will enhance the gaming experience by providing unique and dynamic promotions. Players can participate in personalized, interactive games linked to advertisements to win rewards from brands they know and love. With the ability to redeem offers at their convenience or share them via social media, the CPMN brings added value and excitement to every gaming session.

Aristocrat Secures Preliminary Injunction in Trade Secret Misappropriation Case Against Light & Wonder
Aristocrat Technologies, a leading global provider of gaming solutions, has achieved a significant legal victory in Aristocrat’s case against Light & Wonder (L&W) concerning infringement of Aristocrat’s intellectual property, including misappropriation of Aristocrat’s trade secrets in connection with L&W’s Dragon Train game.
On September 23, 2024, Judge Gloria M. Navarro of the United States District Court for the District of Nevada issued a decision granting Aristocrat’s motion for a preliminary injunction on its trade secret claims against L&W. The court enjoined L&W from “any continued or planned sale, leasing, or other commercialization of Dragon Train”.
The court’s decision finds that Aristocrat is “extremely likely to succeed in demonstrating L&W misappropriated Aristocrat’s trade secrets in (L&W’s) development of Dragon Train”. The court recognized that, by misappropriating trade secrets relating to Aristocrat’s market-leading Dragon Link and Lightning Link games, L&W “was able to develop Dragon Train without investing the equivalent time and money”. In granting the preliminary injunction, the court noted “the public interest in protecting trade secrets and preventing competitors from receiving an unfair advantage”.
“We are extremely pleased with the court’s decision. This ruling underscores the value of our intellectual property and reaffirms our commitment to protecting the integrity of our business. We will continue to innovate and invest in cutting-edge solutions, knowing that the law protects our creative efforts,” said Matthew Primmer, Chief Product Officer of Aristocrat.
Aristocrat will continue pursuing its case against L&W in the US, and will seek all appropriate remedies to address the harm caused by L&W’s actions. Separately, earlier this year the Federal Court of Australia granted Aristocrat pre-suit discovery against L&W and Aristocrat continues to consider its legal options in Australia. The company also looks forward to moving ahead with its innovation-driven mission and continuing to deliver best-in-class products to its customers worldwide.
