Professional Players Federation Partners with GAMSTOP: the self-exclusion tool for consumers
The Professional Players Federation has today announced a partnership with GAMSTOP, the free, independent service that allows consumers to exclude themselves from gambling websites.
GAMSTOP provides a simple, secure one-stop solution for anyone who wants to take a break from online gambling. As of March 31st, 2020, all British online operators have to integrate with GAMSTOP as a condition of their Gambling Commission licence, which means it now covers the entire British market for the first time.
Consumers who register with GAMSTOP can choose to exclude themselves from every gambling site for a minimum period of six months, one year or five years. They cannot then remove themselves from the scheme until their self-exclusion period has expired, and if they do not contact GAMSTOP, their registration is automatically rolled over for up to seven years.
The PPF’s partnership with GAMSTOP will entail raising awareness of the tool among its members through sharing information about GAMSTOP across the PPF website and social channels to ensure consumers and athletes alike know how to access the tool should they need it.
This builds on PPF’s existing Problem Gambling work, which educates players of the possible risks when gambling. GAMSTOP will be the latest addition to this educational hub, and as part of PPF’s work to ensure that professional sportsmen and women are informed about help available for people who may be at risk of gambling problems.
More than 150,000 people have already registered with GAMSTOP, which also works closely with gambling charities like GamCare. Anyone who contacts the service, either through the website or by calling the helpline, is referred to specialist advisors if they need additional help and support with their gambling issues.
Simon Taylor, chief executive of the PPF, said:
“Professional athletes are at a higher risk of developing gambling problems than their peers outside of sport. We are therefore pleased to help promote Gamstop to make it easier for players that decide they want to self-exclude.”
Fiona Palmer, chief executive of GAMSTOP, said: “We’re extremely excited to be able to work closely with the PPF and their members. We welcome PPF’s commitment to protecting and educating those closest to sport who might be affected by problems with their gambling.
This partnership will help ensure that all members have the practical tools and support around them to be protected and educated”.

Oklahoma Table Games Player Wins $3.6 Million Jackpot on AGS’ Jackpot Hold’em on the STAX Progressive System
A table games player at WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma rang in the New Year in the best way, winning a whopping $3.68 million jackpot in an AGS poker derivative. The lucky player, who was enjoying a round of Jackpot Hold’em® on January 2, placed a $5 side bet through the linked STAX® progressive and hit the Royal Flush – Diamonds top progressive, awarding the staggering jackpot of $3,683,560.
The $3.68 million win is the largest progressive jackpot ever won on an AGS table game, as well as at WinStar, marking a historical milestone for both companies. The incredible payout comes from a network of 14 linked STAX progressive Jackpot Hold’em tables, spanning eight casinos in the Chickasaw Nation family of properties throughout Oklahoma, all contributing to the massive top award.
“The goal with our progressives is to create a platform that gives operators the flexibility to offer huge jackpots, like this multi-million-dollar prize,” said John Hemberger, Vice President and General Manager of Tables at AGS. “What makes STAX unique is its ability to have five independent meters, allowing the jackpot to grow faster and larger than with a traditional single meter progressive. It’s incredibly exciting to see our products and a single $5 progressive bet help make these life-changing wins becoming more common at table games.”
“On Friday, Jan. 2 at approximately 8:45 p.m. CT, WinStar World Casino and Resort celebrated a historic moment when a $3.6 million jackpot hit on AGS Jackpot Hold’em in our Vienna table games pit,” said Jack Parkison, President of WinStar World Casino and Resort. “This is the largest jackpot in WinStar history, and we’re thrilled to share this unforgettable win with our guests and team members who help create excitement like this every day.”
Kicking off 2026 strong, the jackpot at WinStar marks the second AGS table games jackpot win of more than $1 million in the first two days of the new year. A lucky guest at Encore Boston Harbor in Everett, Massachusetts, won a record-setting $1,620,355 jackpot on New Year’s Day while playing Royal 9® Baccarat after placing a single side bet also powered by STAX.
