Nevada Gaming Commission Acceptance of Nominations for Appointment to the Pari-Mutuel Wagering Committee
This notice is to advise that the Nevada Gaming Commission (NGC) is currently accepting nominations, pursuant to NRS 464.020(5), to appoint one replacement member to the Pari-Mutuel Wagering Committee. The open position is under NRS 464.020(5)(b).
NRS 464.020(5) provides, in pertinent part:
- The Nevada Gaming Commission may appoint an off-track pari-mutuel wagering committee consisting of 11 persons who are licensed to engage in off-track pari-mutuel wagering. If the commission appoints such a committee, it shall appoint to the committee:
(a) Five members from a list of nominees provided by the State Association of Gaming Establishments whose members collectively paid the most gross revenue fees to the state pursuant to NRS 463.370 in the preceding year;
(b). Three members who, in the preceding year, paid gross revenue fees pursuant to NRS 463.370 in an amount that was less than the average amount of gross revenue fees paid by licensees engaged in off-track pari-mutuel wagering the preceding year; and
(c) Three other members.
As a guide to determine whether the criteria set out in NRS 464.020(5) is met by those interested in serving on the Off-Track Pari-Mutuel Wagering Committee, the following is the median amount of gross revenue fees. This amount is based on the total annual gross
revenue fees that each Nevada pari-mutuel race licensee paid, pursuant to NRS 463.370, for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2020.
- Median amount for total fees paid (pursuant to NRS 463.370) for FY 2020 was $4,110,533.

The NGC will be considering appointments at its meeting on November 19, 2020 on or about the hour of 10:00 AM. At this time, the meeting will take place at the Nevada Gaming Control Board Office, Grant Sawyer Building, Hearing Room 2450, 555 East Washington Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada and via video conference at the Nevada Gaming Control Board Office, 1919 College Parkway, Carson City, Nevada, however if circumstances warrant, the meeting may be conducted by electronic communication.
