ReferOn completes management buyout as Alex Bukin becomes CEO
ReferOn has completed a management buyout, with former General Manager Alex Bukin acquiring the iGaming affiliate management platform and taking over as Chief Executive Officer.
Bukin said the deal is intended to support longer-term product and market plans: “This is an important moment for ReferOn and the beginning of a new chapter for the business. The management buyout provides us with the long-term focus required to continually advance the platform. We remain committed to product development, strengthening our offerings for partners, and supporting ReferOn’s continued growth across key markets.”
ReferOn reported that in its first 12 months post-launch it recorded 35.7 million clicks, 2.4 million registrations, 18,000 affiliates, and 136,000 active trackers. The company also said it was named “Best Affiliate Platform” in 2025 and 2026 by industry stakeholders.
The company said the ownership change will not affect day-to-day operations and that existing support and partnerships will continue. It also pointed to recent product updates including Refie, described as a built-in interface layer, alongside features such as dynamic reporting, Company Grouping, Sub-Affiliation, Independent Deal Calculation (IDC), two-factor authentication (2FA), and mobile optimization.
As part of the transition, ReferOn said its leadership team remains in place, with Vlad Bondarenko moving from Head of Product to Chief Product Officer and David Harris moving from Operations Lead to Chief Operations Officer.

ReferOn has been named “Affiliate System of the Year” at the AffPapa iGaming Awards 2026 in Madrid, with the award announced during the AffPapa Conference.
The company said the win recognizes ReferOn’s growth and product development in affiliate management, including efforts to simplify multi-brand tracking and campaign reporting.
ReferOn pointed to recent product additions including its “Refie” visual UX layer and an automated crypto finance layer, which it said are designed to reduce manual administration and spreadsheet-driven workflows.
Alex Bukin, CEO at ReferOn, said: “This recognition belongs entirely to our team, whose passion drives our growth every single day. Our mission with ReferOn has always been disruptive: we don’t want to be another tool in the stack; we want to revolutionize how affiliate programs operate by making data transparent, accurate, and incredibly easy to manage. Winning this award confirms that giving teams their time back through better tracking is exactly what the market needs. Media Troopers targets Peru sports betting market ahead of 2026 World Cup
Media Troopers said it will enter Peru’s regulated market to provide sports betting and prediction market services ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The company pointed to the 2026 FIFA World Cup—scheduled for 11 June to 19 July across the US, Canada, and Mexico—as a major driver for online wagering activity and said it aims to help operators prepare for higher demand.
Peru launched its regulated market in 2024. The country is home to more than 60 online operators, and the regulator has granted 120 licenses since launch, according to Media Troopers. The company said Peru’s regulated market was valued at $2.7 billion in 2024, with projections reaching $7.6 billion by 2033.
Media Troopers CEO Shmulik Segal compared Peru’s current phase to the early stages of regulated sports betting in the US. “Media Troopers is bringing mature-market expertise into Peru at precisely the moment the market is ready to scale,” Segal said.
Media Troopers said it will provide operators with soccer-focused marketing channels, access to publishers and affiliates, and localized features intended to help customer acquisition and engagement in Peru.
