Victoria Racing Club launches innovative digital race guide Inside Run
The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) will take the Melbourne Cup Carnival digital experience to the next level this spring by launching its innovative new race guide Inside Run. A key feature of this product is the AI–powered 3D rendered video prediction technology, supplied in partnership with Racing and Sports.
The platform will allow all races across the Melbourne Cup Carnival to be live streamed from seven different camera angles with a host of 360–degree user–controlled cameras across the racecourse to ensure that racing fans don’t miss a moment of the action from Flemington.
An animated race predictor, which will analyse data to predict how a race will be run and where a horse will finish, will be available for each of the 37 races across the Melbourne Cup Carnival in addition to dedicated tips and form summaries. This will enhance the second screen action to provide the most complete carnival experience whether trackside at Flemington or watching from afar.
Racing and Sports’ dedicated News Wire will also provide the latest reports from Flemington right across the carnival, placing the most important news and information at the fingertips of racing fans.
VRC Chief Executive Officer Steve Rosich said that Inside Run was another digital asset to
connect racing fans during the biggest week of racing.
“The VRC is always looking for new ways to innovate and Inside Run is the latest step in creating a digital experience befitting one of the world’s greatest sporting events,” Mr Rosich said.
“Inside Run offers both new and existing racing fans a number of products which can complement their Melbourne Cup Carnival experience or create an entirely different and exciting race day journey, wherever they are.
“Racing and Sports is a respected operator in the racing communications space and we are proud to partner with them in order to provide racing fans with the most engaging Melbourne Cup Carnival experience ever.”
Racing and Sports Chief Executive Officer Stephen Crispe said that the company was proud to partner with a world class event like the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
“We’re really excited to be working so closely with the VRC to showcase our innovative and immersive technologies that are designed to appeal to a new demographic of racegoer,” Mr Crispe said.
“We achieved this by combining core elements of gamification with our data and analytics to create a world class user experience with the VRC.”
The 2022 Melbourne Cup Carnival commences with Penfolds Victoria Derby Day this Saturday 29 October, followed by Lexus Melbourne Cup Day Tuesday 1 November, Kennedy Oaks Day on Thursday 3 November and TAB Champions Stakes Day on Saturday 5 November.
