Welcome to our weekly roundup of American gambling news again! It was again an eventful week in the USA, despite the still-active virus attack.

Latest News

Jair Bolsonaro, the President of Brazil, has signed a decree formally adding sports betting to the country’s Investment Partnership Programme portfolio and national privatisation programme. The decree also hands state-owned bank Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social and the Ministry of the Economy control of developing and running a process to select sports betting operators.

HeadsUp Entertainment International Inc. has announced that it continues to move forward on multiple fronts to build operations and increase shareholder value. On August 18, the Company’s account with OTC Markets was approved for reactivation and associated fees were paid.

Pace-O-Matic of Pennsylvania has released a statement regarding a massive seizure by law enforcement of illegal Video Gaming Terminals (VGTs) from an unregulated mini-casino in Berks County.

New Appointments

Social gaming software provider Golden Matrix Group has appointed gaming industry veteran Aaron Richard Johnston to its board of directors with immediate effect. Mr. Johnston has held senior executive-level positions for the past 20 years with major online gambling companies.

Sporttrade, the sports betting startup based in Philadelphia, has partnered with Twin River Worldwide Holdings Inc. The deal will see the launch of Sporttrade’s proprietary sports betting exchange product in New Jersey.

Sports Betting Network VSiN and sports betting platform BetMGM have announced a partnership that includes the launch of the sports betting show “Betting Across America.” The multi-year partnership brings together unmatched industry expertise and insight to create a first-of-its-kind broadcast, providing the most authentic sports betting data and analytics available.

New Launchings

Rush Street Interactive, the developer and supplier of the leading social gaming product CASINO4FUN, has announced the launch of a Social Casino and Social Sportsbook for Coushatta Casino Resort in Louisiana. The Coushatta CASINO4FUN site is powered by RSI’s proprietary iGaming Platform.

ESPN and Caesars Entertainment have launched their new studio at The LINQ Hotel + Experience in Las Vegas. The 6000 square foot facility includes three studios and features 12 cameras, including two exterior robotic cameras. It will operate using ESPN’s REMI production workflow, with 24 transmit and receive paths to ESPN control rooms and technical operations around the country.

Konami Gaming has reported that its All Aboard video slot series is showing spectacular launch results. The premium linked progressive series has indexed as high as 4× section average.

Awards

Jazz Gaming’s Jelani “Comp” Mitchell has become the 2020 NBA 2K League Coach of the Year through voting by NBA 2K League players, coaches, team managers and media. In his second season as head coach of the Utah Jazz’s NBA 2K League affiliate, Mitchell led Jazz Gaming to a 14-2 record and the No. 2 seed in the 2020 NBA 2K League Playoffs Delivered by DoorDash.

Jamul Casino, one of San Diego’s top destinations for exceptional entertainment, outstanding cuisine and exquisite events, has become the winner in five categories of the San Diego Union-Tribune’s 24th annual Reader’s Poll.

The online gambling industry in New Jersey is moving forward with high revenue figures. In July, a gross revenue of $87.49m was registered from online casinos. Borgata Casino and Hard Rock Casino were the only two who registered lower revenue than June and Ocean Resort Casino had the highest percentage increase when compared with the July 2019 revenue.
